Why are white politicians expected to prove...

Because it still exists. What, did you think it was a thing of the past?

If the GOP wanted to win the election hands down the GOP wisemen would calmly say, GO FUCK YOURSELF when the Democrats play the race card.

What I think is the Niggaz have an impossible political problem. Everyone knows theyre owned by their Democrat masters, and no one gives a shit about them. America had its Nigga President, so now the gang can go fuck themselves.

most white people are absolutely racist

littleninja, free-basing medications intended for canines is unwise.

Sure, it was probably a thrill the first couple of times but there ARE long-term, serious health concerns associated with this practice.

Recommend sticking with the traditional recreational chemicals. There are more medical professionals who know how to handle overdoses and bad trips.

they don't "dislike" this, that, or the other non-white community?

I heard an interview with Karl Rove saying that its "important Republicans go into Hispanic communities and let them know they "don't dislike them."" WTF???

Who thinks any white "dislikes" any other group any more than any other group "dislikes" whites or any other other non-white group? Its 20Freakin12. My entire life whites have had NO LEGAL ADVANTAGES in any way, that's in MY ENTIRE LIFE. In fact, there have been legal as well as social and cultural disadvantes to being white throughout my life. When will non-white politicians prove to me they "don't dislike me"??? For that matter when will white politicians prove they "don't dislike me"???

This whole idea that non-whites are still in any way disadvantaged because of race or ethnic background has been bullsh*t for DECADES. In fact, my entire life. I'm sick of this false paradigm being accepted and parroted as gospel. Its ridiculous, and in fact, if anything its whites who are disadvantaged.

Enough of this obviously false, archaic paradigm already.

It's people like you who are a major thorn in the side of Rove and other top GOp strategists. They'd like nothing better than to broaden their racial appeal, especially with Hispanics who they see as obvious Republicans via strong families, conservative social values and love of small business. Yet the soul of the TeaOP feels as you do--nativist rage.

and forest gump comes along and proves my point about treating people as "other"

if race wasnt such a big concern there wouldnt be a need to keep pointing out in cut and paste jobs how much of a non-racist you are... you simply would be

I'm exactly as white as Obama moron...

American racism is starting to remind me of American alcoholism. At the founding of the republic, in the days when beer was thought of as “liquid bread” and a healthy nutritional breakfast, Americans drank about three to four times as much as they do now. Today the United States has a lower per capita rate of alcohol consumption than almost any other developed nation, but it has more alcoholism support groups than any other developed nation — around 164 groups per million people. France, which drinks about 50 percent more per capita than America, has one-twentieth the number of support groups. The French and Italians enjoy drinking, the English and Irish enjoy getting drunk, and Americans enjoy getting drunk on ever more absurd stigmatizatory excess. At Walmart they card you if you “appear to be under” — what is it up to now? 43? 57? And the citizenry take this as a compliment: Well-preserved grandmothers return from failed attempts to purchase a bottle of wine with gay cries of, “I was carded at Costco! They’ve made my weekend!”

And so it goes with American racism: The less there is, the more extravagantly the racism-awareness lobby patrols its beat. The Walmart carding clerks of the media are ever more alert to those who “appear to be” racist. On MSNBC, Chris Matthews declared this week that Republicans use “Chicago” as a racist code word. Not to be outdone, his colleague Lawrence O’Donnell pronounced “golf” a racist code word. When Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell observed that Obama was “working to earn a spot on the PGA tour,” O’Donnell brilliantly perceived that subliminally associating Obama with golf is racist, because the word “golf” is subliminally associated with “Tiger Woods,” and the word “Tiger” is not so subliminally associated with cocktail waitress Jamie Grubbs, nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel, lingerie model Jamie Jungers, former porn star Holly Sampson, etc., etc. So by using the word “golf” you’re sending a racist dog-whistle that Obama is a sex addict who reverses over fire hydrants.

...

To judge from his byline photo, Geoffrey Dunn is not only white but “pasty white.” So too is Lawrence O’Donnell. If I recall correctly from the last time I saw his show (1978 — the remote had jammed), Chris Matthews is not just “pasty white” but “frighteningly white.” I happen to be overseas right now, so perhaps that’s the reason that all these “upscale and frighteningly white” American liberals seem even crazier than usual in their more-anti-racist-than-thou obsessions. To me, the word “Clint” is racist dog-whistling for “Play ‘Misty’ for Me,” which is racist dog-whistling for “Erroll Garner,” which is racist dog-whistling for “black pianist way better than Liberace.” Clint took The Bridges of the Frighteningly White Madison County and gave it a cool Johnny Hartman soundtrack. Clint introduced the world to Roberta Flack’s killer song “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face.”

But, as Geoffrey Dunn can explain, that’s racial code for “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face I Was Pleasantly Reassured by How Pasty White It Was.” Also, Clint starred in The Eiger Sanction, a mountaineering thriller set on an Alp that was “upscale and frighteningly white.”

...

Time’s Mark Halperin wrote this week that “Obama can’t win if he can’t swing the conversation away from the economy.” That’s a pretty amazing admission. The economy is the No. 1 issue on the minds of voters, and, beyond that, the central reality of Obama’s America. But to win the president has to steer clear. That doesn’t leave a lot else. Hence, the racism of golf, the war on women, the carcinogenic properties of Mitt Romney. Democrat strategy 1992: It’s the economy, stupid. Democrat strategy 2012: It’s the stupidity, economists.

Biden Alert!!!

There are two categories of Biden idiocies, the ones that are genuinely offensive (“They gon’ put y’all back in chains”) and the ones that aren’t really offensive but would certainly be treated that way if he was a Republican. This one is a category two, I think, although admittedly the line is fine. If he went up to a table of Italian men and called himself “Joe Bidini,” that’s probably okay. If he went up to a table of Jewish men and called himself “Joe Bidenstein,” a little dodgier. If he went up to a table of Chinese men and called himself “Joe Wang,” he’d be in trouble even though, let’s face it, a lot of people would giggle.

I like to imagine him saying this in that funny Indian accent he sometimes uses:

Approaching a table of men he knew to be Greek, the VP said, “I’m Joe Bidenopoulos.”

“Ask George,” he said – unclear who George was, maybe someone at the table –“who’s the most Greek Irishman he’s ever known.” Sounded like Biden was suggesting he is.

When you cannot find RW Racism, just fucking invent it!

Your buddies and co-workers will back you up 100%

Your readers too; it's what they want to hear...

Yesterday, National Journal published a piece by Ron Fournier titled "Why (and How) Romney is Playing the Race Card." Fournier's story repurposes an old interview with two white Michigan voters in order to reveal the supposed racial subtext in their language. But Benson Brundage, one of the two men mentioned in the story, accuses Fournier of mischaracterizing the discussion and putting words in his mouth that he neither said nor meant.

...

As the title of Fournier's article suggests, he sets out to explain the Romney campaign's racial subtext. But to get there he used some highly questionable tactics and, according to Benson, mischaracterized an 11-month-old interview on a somewhat different topic. By yesterday afternoon, Greg Sargent was hoping that Fournier's reputation would help "make this a safer topic among some of the top-shelf commentator and journalist types."

Mitt Romney is a devout Mormon. He led a Mormon mission in France while in his 20's, teaching Mormon doctrines.

Mormon doctrines include the idea that black people are all descended from Cain and are cursed by God. Blacks were denied advancement in the Mormon church because of the curse. There are many examples of racial slurs and claims of black inferiority in the writings of Mormon leaders, including Brigham Young, who claimed that his sermons were equivalent to scripture.

That particular doctrine was not retracted until 1978, when Mitt was thirty years old.

Anyone who might be critical of Obama for associating with Rev. Jeremiah Wright should wise up about Mitt Romney, who was actively spreading racism and not just listening to it.

I love it.

All conservatives are racists.

From the mid-1800s until 1978, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) had a policy against ordaining black men of African descent to the church's lay priesthood. This resulted in black members being unable to participate in some temple ordinances considered necessary for salvation. Though the church had an open membership policy for all races, relatively few black people who were aware of the racial policy joined the church,[1] despite reassurance that the ban would one day be lifted.
Historically, Mormon attitudes about race were generally close to the national average. Accordingly, before the Civil rights movement, the LDS policy went largely unnoticed and unchallenged. Beginning in the 1960s, however, the church was criticized by civil rights advocates and religious groups, and in 1969 several church leaders voted to rescind the policy, but the vote was not unanimous so the policy stood. In 1978, church leaders led by Spencer W. Kimball declared they had received a revelation instructing them to reverse the racial restriction policy. The change seems to have been prompted at least in part by problems facing mixed race converts in Brazil. Today the church continues to oppose racial discrimination and racism in any form.[2]
In 1997, there were approximately 500,000 black members of the LDS Church, accounting for about 5% of the total membership; most black members live in Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean.[3] Since 1997, the black membership has grown substantially, especially in West Africa, where two temples have been built.[4]
Wiki: See picture of Gladys Knight...

Early Mormonism had a range of doctrines related to race in regard to black people of African descent. References to black people, their social condition during the 19th century, and their spiritual place in Western Christianity as well as Mormon scriptures were complicated.
From the beginning, black people have been members of Mormon congregations, though there were varying degrees and forms of discrimination against blacks. When the Mormons migrated to Missouri they encountered the pro-slavery sentiments of their neighbors. Joseph Smith, Jr. upheld the laws regarding slaves and slaveholders, but remained abolitionist in his actions and doctrines. After the Mormons were expelled from Missouri, Smith took an increasingly strong anti-slavery position, and a few black men were ordained to the LDS priesthood.

Racism should be made of sterner stuff...

Of course, have we have learned, any conservative that tries to show that they are not racists, prove it by denying it so what they are supposed to do is just shut the fuck up and allow themselves to be called racists and I guess that's supposed to be the quick way to proving you're not a racist, even though everyone assumes by your silence that you are...

and forest gump comes along and proves my point about treating people as "other"

Some of us embrace it.

'Why do white (Republican) politicians have to prove they do not dislike ______ "other" ethnic group?"

Maybe because of general GOP policies:

1. Anti-immigration.

2. Anti-social welfare.

3. Anti-equal opportunity laws.

Maybe that's why. Every socio/economic/political subset needs their own lip service.

If you want the Hispanic Vote, (per the original example given), you should probably not go around threatening to deport Jose.

Racism is absolutely a problem, most white people are absolutely racist, and white people absolutely do have systematic and legal advantages over people of color.

Believing otherwise requires a significant amount of willful ignorance.

So, would you say their is no racism in other communities?
