Beastiality is taboo, but --unless I am mistaken-- such stories are not permitted at Lit (fantasy critters excepted, of course). So its entirely possible that if beastiality stories were allowed that they could be rampantly popular also. There's a whole world of "furries" out there who write about sex with anthropomorphized beasties to sate their own fantasies and share their love of the unnatural with like-minded individuals.


Well, you could always combine the taboos... a little incest, a little necrophelia, lots of vomiting to be sure. I wouldn't recommend it, I'm just saying that its still possible.

I've never harbored feelings to my relatives in a sexual way. However, I find incest stories start from a place of shared relationship. They usually have to go through some effort to establish the relationship and I enjoy that in any story. Incest stories usually have to have it built in while others may or may not.

Thread necromancy aside, incest has appeal for a number of reasons:

-The fact that it's one of the few universal sexual taboos gives it a thrill factor that might otherwise be missing.

-There's power dynamics at play. Depending on what the author goes for you can have a more powerful family member (parent, aunt, uncle, older sibling) exert their will. In a sexy way, of course. Or you can have someone like a child or younger sibling turn the tables on their older relative who would normally be the one in charge. This is not unique to incest stories by any means, but combined with the above there's a closeness missing from a story with a teacher or boss.

-With the characters having an existing emotional relationship incest stories can potentially be very intimate and romantic, although admittedly most of them aren't.

There are seven or eight billion people on earth, so most things are probably more common than people think, but I doubt it's that common. Certainly not consensual incest. I still think that is very rare.

Without a case of incest three generations back, I would not exist. I don't know for sure whether the people involved knew what they were doing at the time they were doing it, but judging by how they handled the fact that a child resulted from it, whatever they were doing was consensual.

Actually, I suspect that they knew, but even in case they didn't, their common mother definitely must have enlightened them afterwards. Moreover, the woman involved in the incest told her son who his real father was – something that, in view of both parent's positions in society around 1900, she would surely not have done if it had been a case of rape. Also, her son was always treated as close friend of the family, despite his illegitimate status. His mother was illegitimate as well, by the way, though not the result of incest.

Having said that, I never was really sexually interested in a family member, despite seeing all of them naked many times. But I do sometimes choose to read a specific story because it has an incest warning slapped onto it. It's the "excitement" of those involved doing something that they have to keep extra secret.
