Who's the NFL MVP now?

I had this thread at the halfway point in the season, and figured this would be a good time to get another set of opinions.

Holmes?

McNabb?

Gannon?

Favre?

Brad Johnson?

Vick?

Williams?

The're all having great seasons.

AJ Feely proved that it's not McNabb.

Farve would get my vote cause he's fucking Farve.

I think Vick might just win it because it's the cool thing for sportswriters to suck his dick right now.

Marvin Harrison.

I honestly can't understand why some people mention Jerry Rice as the best player of all time when the WR having the best year of any wideout in history is getting no love.

No love? He's going to the pro bowl!

Well put. I don't think Vick will actually win, but he'll be in the top few.

He chooses to fly under the radar. And his team's success is not predicated on his performance. At least I don't think so, I don't follow them too closely.

It's a shame there's no chance for a defensive player to win it.

Offensive numbers are so bloated this year because of teams like the Raiders running their offenses like a 12 year old playing Madden 2003 that it's tough to take things like Gannon's 5000 yds or Harrison's 150 catches seriously.

Two defensive guys just having unreal years are Simeon Rice and Joey Porter.

And, maybe because he's developed faster than anyone could have predicted and will lead a pretty nondescript team into the playoffs?

I can tell you which ones are having a shitte year:

1) the ENTIRE Redskins defense

:D

Maybe, but that doesn't make him MVP.

The Bucs proved that, twice.

I'm still going with McNair. Without him, there's no way the Titans could have rattled off so many in a row.

McNair's a good choice. I still don't know how the Titans are 10-5.

Interesting that no running backs are being mentioned.

I don't think any RBs deserve it. Although Portis has my vote for Rookie of the Year.

I agree with you concerning Gannon, but Harrison? He plays on a team without an intimidating running game and without a top quality wideout on the other side of the field to take some pressure off. The only outside factor in Harrison's year is that he plays with a very good QB.

And I think the number of DB's assigned to him on any given play overrides that.

Yeah, Harrison is not in the Gannon category.

Rice is having a great year, but who is Joey Porter?

Rich Gannon should win (anyone watching the game now??). You can't say his productivity is because they throw the ball 50 times a game. If anything, they throw the ball 50 times a game because he's so productive and accurate. He's blowing out the Broncos right now, and his team may end up winning the toughest conference in the league. There's really nothing you can say against him.

Farve is a perenial candidate for MVP. But I think Gannon has had enough memorable games to steal if from him.

And as for Vick, he will almost certain win many MVP awards in his career. He has the potential to be the best QB to ever play. Right now he probably means just as much, or more, to his team than any other player in the league. BUT! He had some bad games against teams he needed to show well against. And I think writers will defer to the player who's team has more wins (although I don't always agree with that), and more experience.

MVP will be Rich Gannon.

Gannon and Holmes have the numbers, Fav-ra has the greatness and the moxy, and Vick is just a sick freak, but I vote Mcnair. So far this season he has out-favred Brett Fav-ra with his toughness and will to win.
