who's name do you have (or have you had) trouble with?

It took me *forever* to realize that shereads was she reads, lol.

And tatelou, I thought was tattle lou

and Joe- how do you pronounce that? Just kidding:D

I thought Belegon was Belgion! (LIke the waffles)

Has anyone else had this problem? Reading a name wrong or just not 'getting' it?

Tattle Lou!? Oh nice! lol

That makes me think others might have done the same thing, hence the shortening to "Tat".

It's TATE-LOU (as in arty toilet, as someone once called me, all that time ago. :D)

I have a big problem with hmmmmnmmm. Never know where the 'n' comes.

I thought sweetnpetite was pronounced amy, and it was prolly just wishful thinking but I thought Tatelou was pronounced shockmynipples, and that ferocious lil kittymouse that scampers around here drives me nuts, so I just call her cute.

I used to think Perdita was pronounced purr-DITA, rather than PURR-dita. As for you Lou, I'm afraid I still do think of you as Ta-ta-Lou. I'll try and think arty in future.

My favorite was when I read sweetnpetite in tiny font and it looked like it said "sweet ripe tite".

Oh yeah: and when I see vella_ms I always read it as "vella manuscript".

She reads? Huh. I've been using the name forever and I hadn't seen that!

Originally, it was going to be "erea," but it looked odd so I added decorative consonants at each end. Your way could have worked, too.

on another thread Zoot says his name is may-buse, it's probably an atlantic difference but I always say Maybe-oos.

Dranoel is a wonderful word but it always puts me in mind of something that you use to unblock your U-Bend. (Sorry) *wince*

See, now I get it in my head as Mah-booze. Kinda like someone from S.USA claiming his liquor.

Now, that, you see... I would imagine more a a Glaswegian accent.

"Gimme Mah-booze yer reekin' bahhstuds!!"

:D

I read gauchecritic as gauchcentric -- always have for some reason. Welcome home Perdita (pronounced by me as Peardita) sometimes with a little rolling emphasis on the "r" and the "t", many kisses and Happy New Year to you.:)
