Who's name can't you read?

I read gauchecritic as gauchcentric -- always have for some reason. Welcome home Perdita (pronounced by me as Peardita) sometimes with a little rolling emphasis on the "r" and the "t", many kisses and Happy New Year to you.:)
Rain! Thank you, and some peace and joy in the new year to you.

Ha ha, I love "gauchecentric", very apt  .

May as well repeat myself here. I took my name from a character in Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale". She is the lost daughter of a king and queen and represents promise and life (among other things). The Elizabethans pronounced it PURR-di-TA. Therefore, calling me 'Perdy' is just wrong.

However, in Spanish the word means 'lost girl' and is pronounced Pear-DEE-tah. So Dita is fine.

Perdita :)

Perdita don't think I wasn't thinking of the aptness of the name when the red alert went for your whereabouts on your recent sojourn! Don't you ever do that again, not never.:)

I don't want to name names, but it was NOT my fault (ha ha ha). It was nice to think so many people cared though. P.

I, for one knew it couldn't have been your fault, but who knew what unforeseen forces and circumstances were at work? :) Hope you had a great time.

I also don't know how to pronounce yui (my guess is U.E.)

and mab has always thrown me. Even after it was explained, I'm still not 100%- I tend to think of him as doctor_m.

"Whose name can't you read" maybe.

Sorry, I get so tired of this crap. Call me a grammar nazi if you will, I think that the presentation distracts from the message. Not only belies the ignorance of the writer, but also presumes an ingnorance of the reader that is somewhat condescending. To me anyway. Perhaps I just read too much into th9ings (the 9 is silent, by the way).

I don't think it distracted from the message at all, you obviously were able to read around the typo or else you wouldn't of gotten irritated about it and felt the need for correction.

Its a thread, meant for relaxed conversation, not everyone is strict in their grammar when they are relaxing. I'm sure you don't speak with 100% perfect grammar, even if you might try to claim as such.

I had pronounced Shereads as Shreads for ages, and Im even sure I posted with it spelt like that until it dawned on me I was forgeting a letter. Now when I type it I have to actually say it in my head to get it down right- idiot I know!

Everyone has things they are good at, and things they are bad at.

Mine is spelling, as everyone knows. I've never been very good at it and I make a lot of errors with it.

I actually think I have a borderline dyslexia- because even when I'm reading, sometimes I'll see words written differently than they really are and think they are misspelled. But when I go back to mark them or point them out I see that they are spelled right.

As far as grammer goes- I'm not too good on that either. And I often mis-type hominims (sp?) like there and their and they're.

I think most people here forgive me for that, and even to some point expect it.

This is either brilliantly ironic or dumb as a post.

A rant against typos containing typos.

Art or Ignorance. The great borderline.

It doesn't bother me one bit when people have typos, or spelling errors for that matter. I know the English language well enough to read over or around 90% of all mistakes I encounter. (yes, thats just a rough estimate, I haven't actually tallied it all up)

This reply deserves only a few quick words:

Luc, you rock :)

The only one I seriously goofed up was Oddsbodkin. I mean Oddbashin'. I mean, Oggbashan;) . Others I could read, but mispronounced. Like Pearrrrrditah and TatieLou.

Oddsbodkin!? Hehehe!

Tatielou is cool, and actually pretty close (and an even better mispronunciation of my real name). :D

Lou :rose:

Hey, when was I whining? :p

Hmm.. sounds like a good offer.. :)

I dunno, it just sounded good and I wanted to call you a twat :)

I know how the mispronouncing of the name things goes. I use my nickname not only to preserve some anonymity, but also because my real name is a pain to pronounce.

And now we all want to know what your real name is. :D

Tolyk, I appreciate you calling me a twat. Very much. :D :rose:
