interesting post. it's hard to tell if you're citing real concerns that could be met. it could be that these are 'reasons' which can always be multiplied, in order to reach the desired result. (like a wife who always has a headache, her period, her 'too stressed out', etc. excuse)

OTOH, in case you're half serious, i don't see your 'reasons' as much of a barrier:

AMy consulting rate is $1500 per day and my clients usually want me for 3 or 4 days at a time. For that, they get to have me tell them how to run their businesses.

Now to answer the question:

P: That's pretty easy in this age of cell phones. Also either meet on neutral ground like a hotel, or better, your own ground (an apartment) with a bouncer or bodyguard on call.

P: Do it in Europe or Canada. Or bite the bullet: the law no more controls prostitutes or meaningfully penalizes the 'upper crust' than it does wealthy drug users or dealers. There are also a number of ways to ensure you're not dealing with an ordinary cop.

Well, first of all, the client and you have a common interest, to keep it secret. He or She is unlikely to rat you out, though the possbility of 'clues' has to be dealt with--e.g. your charges appearing on his Visa.

Else do it out of the country, assuming you're in the US.

AI would love to do it every once in a while. I would probably line up a date for the Friday of one of the weeks of my out-of-town consulting trips.

I would charge $8,000 to $10,000 per night.

P: I think the several thousand per night fee is not a deterrent to the wealthier clients. On your side, there are of course requirements of lots of class, brains, and attractiveness for that kind of money.

There's clearly nothing inherently expoitative about prostitution. I believe its basically because prostitutes are not well organized and protected by unions the way most other jobs are. I don't really think that clients of prostitutes are exploiting them -- but pimps certainly are.
