There was a post in FlamingoeBlues thread about the AARP which stated that the person "found all special interest groups moraly repugnant".

Seeing how we have been going through a Love In/Mutual Admiration cycle lately I feel like rocking the boat. Maybe the fact that Jade is taking a sabbatical has made me cranky I dunno'

The question I put to you dear reader is this.

Which "Special Interest Group" or Lobby do you hate the most? Whether you find them moraly or ethicaly repugnant is of little concern to me. Although why you hate them is.

Bring on the Vitriol and Venom.

Anyone who takes on PETA gets brownie points.

ha ha Chandler .. PETA .. People for Ethical Treatment of Animals .. there was a big fuss in Alberta, Canada (cattle country) when they "erected" (lol) billboards featuring a sexy woman in a stars and stripes bikini saying that meat causes impotency ..

now they knew the billboards would be taken down quickly because of the content .. but that only caused more free publicity for them .. sneaky bastards lol .. but hey i guess K.D. Lang liked it!

.. now you were saying something bout brownie points ..

Here's my list. And the reason why?

"You've got to be taught to hate and fear.. you've got to be taught from year to year, it's got to be drummed in your dear little ear.. You've got to be carefully taught."

I hate to say this.. But I've grown up prejudiced and will die prejudiced against two main groups. I pray about it, I try to change myself, but some things are just too highly ingrained in my body.

-The Ulsters (and can we not get into this argument again?)

-The Mormon church (I hate people who belong to the Ulster movement; however, I do not hate every single Mormon I meet. As a matter of fact, the mormons I know are dear friends of mine; but I DESPISE the church to my very soul for perverting the word of God.)

Feel free to blast me.. I know the world needs less hate.

I'll take on PETA any day. I love animals. I hate those guys. I have fish, a rabbit, 2 gerbils, and a horned frog...and I've never heard any complaints from them. LOL

I don't think my little bunny could be happier...she gets 2 meals a day, a bath every 2 weeks, a nice roomy porch to play in, treats, her own fenced in section of the yard, and plenty of love and affection. My fish are in a 55 gallon tank...and there's only 4 of them. They breed and seem to live their little fishie lives with no problems. My frog gets cleaned and fed. He just sits like a bump anyways, so... :) The gerbils are about as spoiled as the rabbit. And all my little buddies add something to my life that's as special and unique as each one of them.

PETA is, after all, the group that told us that milking cows was cruel and we should all drink beer instead. Ever hear of domestic violence or OWI from someone under the influence of milk? Me neither.

Don't get me wrong, if I catch ANYONE being cruel to ANY animal, I'll do to them exactly what they did to the animal, but PETA takes this stuff WAAAAAY to far.

Also, some animal rights nut reported me to the Human Society a couple of years ago for disciplining my rabbit with a squirt gun. She had this habit of chewing on the clapboards on the porch...it's natural for rabbits to chew, but it's not like she didn't have her own toys out there to use. She chewed the porch, she got a squirt. I have NEVER laid a hand on her in anger, and I never would, but someone must have seen me do it through the window, and the H.S. guys came out. They thought it was as stupid as I did, but they still had to check her, where I kept her, what she ate, and make sure she had enough room, etc....it sucked. If I find who did that, I'm nailing them with a Super Soaker.

*LMAO at Dixon* Messianic Jew IS a bit of an oxymoron.

Patryn, that's silly. My mother is the director of the humane society here, and she reccomends squirt guns for discipline of cats, as long as the water is ONLY water, and it's not of an extreme temperature.

What's better than a squirt gun, though, is those cans of air you buy to clean out your keyboard. They make a noise like a hiss, and they shoot out air to accompany the hiss. The air doesn't hurt the cat, but it does startle them.

Aiko loooooves to bite on electrical cords. I get her with the air can (not a direct blast or anything, just a little poof from a foot or so away) and she jumps three feet in the air and runs like hell away from the cord.

I don't believe in corporal punishment for anything - especially animals, because they don't understand it and it just makes them bitter and hateful. My sister will spank her cat, which is not only mean but ineffective. However, I don't want Aiko to get electrocuted or hurt. The trick is that they can't see that it's you holding the can - they have to associate the scary noise with the electrical cord. And it works...for a while. Sometimes she'll creep back and try it again, and then I'll give her a refresher.

One thing I HATE (and this is totally off topic) is people who punish pets for being pets or children for being children. Aiko likes to climb, and sometimes she climbs where she shouldn't. She's a cat - she doesn't know a "safe" shelf from an "off-limits" shelf. Instead of screaming at her when she's in the wrong place, I pick her up and take her away from there.

Similarly, she's absolutely fascinated by the tortoises. They sleep inside in a terrarium until we get their big enclosure finished, and Aiko would stare at them through the glass and make them nervous. All the yelling/screaming/spanking in the world will not change this behavior - she's a CAT, a hunter, and she's going to be fascinated by little moving things. So, rather than play cat cop, I takes a large piece of paper to the end of the terrarium that Aiko has access to, and since she can't see them she leaves them alone. I'm happy, the torts are happy, and the cats are happy.

Manu and I were in the grocery store the other day, and there was a little girl wandering around the florist section while her mom ordered and arrangement. The little girl was smelling all of the flowers in the buckets, and singing a little song while she did so. It was so cute - she was so happy! Then her mother turned around, annoyed by the "noise" her child was making, and told her to "come her and shut up". The girl complied, and her shoulders drooped. It was so unnecessary! The girl wasn't bothering anyone! She wasn't being destructive or rude - she was just being a kid! I thought to myself, I bet that lady spanks her cat...

Yeah, Endlessly, it was stupid...and that's why I hate the animal rights extremist and PETA. :)

Also, I agree with you...the squirt gun idea was told to me by a vet.

I also have a kind of a squirt gun that I use on my cat if he does something that he's not supposed to. And by now I just need to pick it up, and he tries to hide from it!

Ok talking about animal rights. What is it that makes some people have their cats declawed?? To me that just doesn't make sense. People should know that a cat have claws for a reason, such as hunting, climbing and also for cleaning their fur. I guess that I just don't understand people from time to time.

Laurel I am with you. Kids are wonderful and I hate seeing them yelled at and jerked around for being themselves. Playing is a childs work. It teaches them so many things. I remember hanging by my knees from tree branches any chance I got. <The neighbors were convinced I was a bat>. I have seen kids in the intensive care unit scared out of their little minds. Screaming scared children are not a good thing in a critical care unit. So instead they let them play on the floor sounds yummy huh? I just do not understand this behavior. These people will tell me "little Sally is so advanced for her age" lets get real here Sally is three she needs to be protected from seeing Grandpop on a ventilator with a heart assistive device. Not to mention blood draining from chest tubes. I have seen 16 year olds pass out and or start to cry uncontrollably. I must be a bitch because I seem to be one of the few people upset by this behavior. Okay am shutting up now. Thanks Expertise I needed this to vent.

Snappy, swallowed any bugs lately? ;)
Love the new signature line babe!

The Sierra Club and the KKK. The KKK for obvious reasons.

The Sierra Club takes a little explaining. The summer of 1967, I was working for the US Forest Service as a fire fighter. In one of the worst fire seasons up to that point, there was a lightening cause fire in a wilderness area.

The Sierra Club got an injuction against the Forest Service to prevent them from using chainsaws, gasoline powered pumps, or in any way violating the normal ban on internal combustion engines in a wilderness area.

As a result of the Sierra Clubs intervention, the fire could NOT be controlled while still small, and eventually burned over 100,000 acres of the wilderness area the wanted to "protect", along with about 3 Million dollars worth of private homes because the fire went beyond the wilderness area.

Any group, whether the Sierra Club, KKK or PETA, that takes their cause to extremes gets my vote for extinction.

ANYONE who uses cell phones, laptops and palm tops while driving.

There is a reason for the bumper sticker "Maybe you'd drive better with that cell phone up your ass."

The reason: When toodling around the country in an 18 wheeler that happened to weigh approximately 79,847 pounds at the time (lots of cheese, about 45000 pounds of cheese, why anyone would want THAT much cheese, I don't know, but it was full of cheese)we came, as all vehicles must at one time, to an intersection with a green light. We were doing about 10 mphish. A woman yapping on a cell phone driving a minivan full of kids going to a soccer game ran the red light and we nearly smacked her. If we had, they would all be dead. Thank gawd that my hubberdiddles goes really slowly in residentialish areas.

There is a reason why most states have outlawed the use of cellular devices while driving.

I hate HATE GROUPS

6. Anti-abortionist extreme radicals that believe in killing doctors in order to "save the unborn's life"---especially cuz these same people wont give a rats ass about that child once it has the first breath....
< ok flame me on that one >

I'm against abortion in most cases, in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother would die or be unhealty otherwise, thats different. Too many people out here who can't have babies for me to think that abortion is a good alternative.

However, I have to completely agree with Siren on this one. Anti abortionists take it toooooo far. Women who have abortions and pro abortionists are not bad people, they are good people with opposing views. These wildly hypocritical anti abortionist people have no right to judge others or the decisions they make. The religion says so quite plainly. "Do not judge lest ye be judged.... Clean out the plank in thine own eye before the dust mote in thy neighbors.... LOVE THY NEIGHBOR...etc." Wish they'd get a clue.

You don't stop abortions by killing other people and you definately don't stop it by yelling and screaming filth at the women thinking about it. They should try love and understanding. Most of these young women have a real problem and no place else to turn. Small wonder they think abortion is the only way out. I don't blame them.

Or am I just being Pollyanaesque here?

I don't really hate anyone, but I truly dislike the anonymous person who was sending me Bible verses about witches and how evil they are.

They weren't death threats, though (I've had friends who got those). These were just earnest exhortations to repent and find Jesus. Maybe dislike is too strong a word.

Holy shit it was me !!!!

:p

I hate all these fucked up extremist coalitions around the world.

ESPECIALLY, those fuck ups who run around parading Hitler as God.
Having has quite a few run ins' with some of these skins in the past, only makes me dislike them more.
All they do, is looking for an excuse to start a fight, or satisfy their own sick need to hurt innocent people.

For all I care, they could all be shipped out to Mars, to estaplish their own little sociaty there. Then maybe they would leave the rest of us the fuck alone.
Of course, they would only recieve bad radiation domes out there, then let's see how much fun that would be.

Eminem, Dr Dre, Lars Ulrich, Marilyn Manson, Lance Storm, Bret Hart, Nazis, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Ted Turner, Ellen Degenerate, The Atlanta Braves, any sports teams from Texas, especially the Stars and Cowboys, Chris Benoit, slow computers, and........uhhh awwwwwwwww shit too much to think of here. Well anything that hurts, too. But I love you all here. :)

For me there are a few:

PETA because they are pretty much all in need of being institutionalized.

The PQ because they want to tear apart my country.

Plowshares because they have absolutely no concept of the real world.

The UN because they are a corrupt and totaly incompetent organization.

The IOC see above

Sierra Club see PETA

The Tobacco Lobby even though I smoke

OPEC because I have a gas hog SUV

Awww fuckit I hate every special interest group, lets kill em' all and let God sort em' out;)

This Jade thing has turned me in to a bitter semi-young man:(
