As a middle aged guy my preference is for women say from mid 30s and up. I really have no interested in any late teens or even late 20s. I want a woman with not only sexual experience, but one who has lived life and experienced the good and the bad.

Here is a distinction that I would like to make. I am a middle aged man and I also have no desire to have a younger, say 20's, woman as a girlfriend or anything more than that. We would have absolutely nothing in common. But...I certainly wouldnt mind to have that same 20's woman for a night. Just to be able to play with and enjoy a prestine body like that again, especially now that I know what to do with it!!!

My partners have been: 8 yrs older, 23 yrs younger, 26 yrs younger, 42 yrs younger for the one I live with now.
I prefer experience to youth however, I've never really been the "teacher" in a sexual relationship. Thinking about having a young woman to teach and show her its OK to explore her sexual fantasies, well that's just hot and I'd love to try it...just for science..haha

Yeah, as compelling as it might be to "train" someone, it's far more fulfilling to have an equal. I'll not only take experienced over a novice, I want the open mindedness that COMES from experience.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places on Lit, but I most often see younger men and women looking for older partners. The "How to hook up with a cougar?" types of threads immediately come to mind.

Two thoughts. One is that it's compensating for not having been with anyone (of that age?) when young. For instance, I was a virgin until after college, so an 18-year-old who just graduated high school appeals to me now to "make up for" something I missed out on.
Second thought, biology. Didn't humans only start to live past their 40s on a regular basis in the last 100 or 200 years? And don't women's ova start deteriorating in quality once they're in their thirties, increasing the probability of things like miscarriages and Down's Syndrome? I'd think that would have lead to a tendency to prefer younger women, since all else being equal a woman is more likely to have more and better babies in her 20s than her 40s. Right?

I still don't like the implications. A woman who's had nothing but asshole lovers is somehow going to be a good lover to you? I get showing her what a REAL lover is all about, but that doesn't mean that having sex with her is going to be fulfilling because she's only going to know how to please an asshole, which IMHO, is far from being able to please a competent and compassionate lover.
We are all individuals, so we all have our little quirks. Suffice it to say, I'm old enough now to appreciate a like minded lover with similar sex drive and preferences.
I agree, and in my 1st post I said my preference was older more experienced lovers.
