Most of you guys are making your own history up.
If this was not someone elses thread I would plead for a sunny's copying chapters of "The Illiad" based on this one Yayatwat comment alone.

I have a distant, direct ancester who married Davy Crockett's sister.

Woah. Trippy. My great-aunt married Davy Crockett. Or maybe great-great aunt.

I thought that only worked with men?

I prefer "The Oddyssey"

My ancestors were homeless Gypsies on the streets of Gdanszk. I believe they were fortunate enough to actually do some of the rowing on the way over to the US though. Funny how life comes around full circle.

My mom likes to rewrite Mosaic Law whenever it suits her needs. ;)

She calls it "bringing a much needed voice of Feminism to Halacha." lol

(did I ever mention how cute my mom is?)

I'm related to Daniel Boone through some hormone related sex act.
I'm also related to Thorfinn, a member of the first Viking settlement in North America.
The last and most notorious one is Deacon ******, a city councilman in Edinburg. Leading a double life by night and day, when he was caught, the exposure was reported widely. The story intrigued a young writer who came up with a story called, "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde!"
A direct ancestor was famous for jumping off the Brooklyn Bridge and living, they made a Bugs Bunny cartoon out of it. :D

I am related to two people who are historical figures, one being rather famous.

One of them, Stephen Hopkins, governor of Rhode Island, signed the Declaration of Independance. The other was a famous football hero, part of the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame. His first name was Harry. Figure it out for yourself if you care. ;)

So, who are you related to, and if no one, then tell us who would you like to be fucked by tonight?

I am a direct lineal descendant of His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Charles the Great, who ruled the revived Western Empire until he died (I believe) in 814. He is buried in Aachen, His capital.

My 5th great grandfather was Ezra Cornell, founder of Cornell University. I also have some Nth great uncles who fought in the Revolutionary war, but I have no idea what there names are.

Not famous, but ah well...historical at least.

piss off yaya, no one said anything about coming from a noble lineage. Just famous or historical.

Here is a photo of the statue of Joseph Sturge (my 5 great Uncle) that is in Brimingham in the UK today.

I can prove it, but here is not the place to list 40 generations of people.

Furthermore, I do not doubt your noble descent, nor do I seek proof. I take you at your word. Like a gentleman should. I have no reason to doubt you.

Lord Ruvigny in 1900 estimated that 250, 000 persons in Europe and America could deduce descent from nobility or royalty centered on Europe alone. Add to that those descended from non-European royalty/nobility, that number would rise considerably. Also, those figures are 102 years old, so the numbers are higher for obvious reasons.
