One of them, Stephen Hopkins, governor of Rhode Island, signed the Declaration of Independance. The other was a famous football hero, part of the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame. His first name was Harry. Figure it out for yourself if you care.

I am a direct lineal descendant of His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Charles the Great, who ruled the revived Western Empire until he died (I believe) in 814. He is buried in Aachen, His capital.

I can prove it, but here is not the place to list 40 generations of people.

Furthermore, I do not doubt your noble descent, nor do I seek proof. I take you at your word. Like a gentleman should. I have no reason to doubt you.

Lord Ruvigny in 1900 estimated that 250, 000 persons in Europe and America could deduce descent from nobility or royalty centered on Europe alone. Add to that those descended from non-European royalty/nobility, that number would rise considerably. Also, those figures are 102 years old, so the numbers are higher for obvious reasons.
