The first regulation from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives would require background checks for guns registered to a trust or corporation. That action is intended to close a loophole that allowed felons and others who are prohibited from owning a firearm from bypassing the background check process, the White House said.

The second order will prevent the re-importation into the United States of military-grade firearms that have been provided to foreign allies.

I don't give a shit about guns or people's rights to own guns but I do have to say that the real problem with gun violence never gets addressed. For the most part, the NRA and the right is correct in that it is not guns that kill people, it is people who kill people. If you pass all of this gun legislation it doesn't stop guns from falling into the wrong hands and hence will not solve gun violence. Gun legislation is nothing but a bandaid being put over a hemorage. It will give us the false hope that we have done something, when in fact we haven't.

We need to not only enforce the laws already on the books better but we need to make sure sentencing takes most of the harder core criminals off the streets, and I mean for good. I get so pissed off hearing of a shooting or mass shooting and then the media reports that this person has been arrested 20 times in the last 5 years. WTF? How come these people were even out in the first place to be able to be arrested 20 times?

It is amazingly unbelievable how the liberals demand taking away law abiding citizens their right to own guns but they refuse to take away the liberty of people who are an obvious threat to society. The liberals demand that criminals have rights but they don't seem to give a shit about all of the innocent people who get killed having the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We live in a society where people have the right to murder and mass murder but if you don't kill yourself in the process we are going to throw the book at you afterward. Stupid.
