1. Slept in until 3 PM (after staying up until 2 AM and spending hours 4:30-7:30 AM in airport-related duties).

2. Ate lunch/dinner half at the computer and half wandering the kitchen scooping one bite of food worth each out of every food item that looked tasty.

3. Logged on to an online game with every intention of wasting the entire evening in joyful silliness.

What do you do when no one is looking?

(*waves to the SO, who reads Lit*)

Everything. No one to watch my life.

I feel such affinity with you now. When my baobei's away, I can lose hours in Civ IV, stay up till silly o'clock and just nibble at whatever happens to be around too. More often than not, I use the time to catch up on television programs that she doesn't watch or play the computer games that we can't play together.

Stay here until dawn.
Wear my tiara.
Eat ice cream for supper.
Let the cats sleep on the bed.

Shang, it sounds like a perfect day to me.

Kendo, it's been pretty damned idyllic. My only semi-torment is having accidentally spotted a key and vexingly alluring/frustrating phrase on the "Doctor Who" thread just before seeing the spoiler warning. *laugh* Now I must suffer until it's all viewable in the States.

All day on the computer, while the TV next to it features the "While the SO's away film festival".

Eating ice cream from really big bowls.

Beer

Remembering what I liked about being single...

but soon getting bored and lonely and remembering why I prefer being married.

Not to say, that the process isn't good for the soul, and the relationship.

When the SO is away, I spend most of my time in our garage that I converted into an office. I set it up with a 7.1 surround sound system, my gaming PC and a widescreen TV.

My cats come and go as they please and since it's separate from the house, I get to download and watch all the porn I want, mostly at night. I call the garage my 'Wank Cave'. Like the Batcave, only instead of a Batmobile, I have my computer with tons of porn.

Eat cheerios for supper (the berry kind)
watch hours of Court TV without having to listen to anyone complain
stay up until the early morning hours playing some stupid game or reading
carry a bag of jalapeno chips around with me, and then forget where I left them ;)

Blimey. Got me right down to the Court TV.

I watch it in bed.

Perhaps we'll run into each other some fine night. ;)

That made me smile. I agree wholly. I was just thinking the other day that after all of these years with the SO, I wouldn't go back to being a reckless single for anything. The depth of understanding between us is a very moving thing to me, and I would not trade it for the world. The daily comraderie of someone who absolutely understands you, and who extends such a wealth of affection and good will - every time I leave home for any period of days, and must make do with the company of others than the delightful SO (last time, God help me, it was my parents), I feel very keenly how fortunate I am.

Well, my bf has been away on business for almost a year now.. it sucks.
Meanwhile, I write erotic stories featuring him..
paint in my bedroom (got a mini-studio set up here)..
and focus on my screenwriting course..

Oh, and try to figure out a way to convince him of going back to giving local cave tours instead of analyzing the world at large...

The times my SO goes away, and leaves me at home...

Watch the movies I like, and he rolls his eyes at.

Stretch out all over the bed, only to wake up hugging his pillow.

Find myself eyeing my phone and finally sms'ing him.

Then trying to entertain and loose myself in computer games, while wishing he was back.

4. Take the pup to the park, let her play in the creek, then come home for doggy-bath time. At least someone has her mind off of missing the SO for a bit.

Maybe it is indicative of our relationship that I pretty much do the same things when my BF is gone that we do when he's here. Eat ice cream for dinner, lie around on the couch and watch the History Channel, take a nap. Except that when he's not here, we call each other all the time. I miss him when he's gone, but so far he's always come back. :)

play video games for hours with my 7-year-old (specifically, Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart, and Tag Team Racing), and get just as into it, and just as absolutely silly as he does.

I want everyone to disappear on Friday nights so that I can watch the Sci Fi channel, but they always disappear at times when there isn't anything I want to watch, and get back just before or after something starts...
