I don't think it would be possible, even but that is hardly a normal word. Actually, it would be possible. One character could be going down on another and suddenly stop and say something using the word in question but it would be so out of character that it wouldn't fit into the story so I wouldn't do it.

Maybe you can use 'phlegm' in a porn story, but I think it's just about the ugliest word I know. The sound, the meaning, even the spelling and look of the word with that silent 'g' dripping down all make me queasy.

Other turn-offs for me are "bush"--especially as the ever-popular "hairy bush"--and it has nothing to do with politics. It just makes me think that there are things living in the branches.

It is an ugly word and it's an ugly story that I just wrote. It is short, fewer than 1,000 words and I still have to edit it. I actually have some reluctance about submitting it. The story is nothing like the usual gentle, mutually enjoyable making love that I usually write about. I wrote about the brutal anal rape of a young man by two other men, and if I submit it, I will include a warning at the start of it. I don't like the thought of people who like my stories being traumatized by this one.
