Which nut...

Um... I dislike those mixed nuts - yuck. Just give me a jar of each nut and legume. Cashews are the best while almonds and walnuts come second, tied.

wandering through the thread singing

I've got a lov-e-ly bunch of coconuts,
deedle dee dee!
See them all, all standing in a row,
Big ones, small ones, some of them big as your head!

"Botanically speaking, a coconut is a simple dry fruit known as a fibrous drupe (not a nut). The husk (mesocarp) is fibrous and there is an inner "stone" (the endocarp). This hard endocarp has three germination pores that are clearly visible on the outside surface once the husk is removed. It is through one of these that the radicle emerges when the embryo germinates. When viewed on end, the endocarp and germination pores resemble the face of a monkey, the Portuguese word for which is coco."

Repeat after me. Google is our friend.

You know that wierd thing that cartoon's eyes do when they are being hypnotised? The twirling? That's what my eyes are doing now. The only thing I got from that was that I was right (of course :D), and that coconuts are not nuts.

They certainly do make you nuts though.

That's why I'm so cracked you see.

I'm a nut
I'm a nut
I'm an N-U-T-T nut.

OK, something's wrong, here. These two posts shouldn't come from the same brain. Well, unless that brain is on tilt part of the time, maybe on drugs or evil liquor, or maybe you're a stuck up little sub that's looking for some disipline.

OK, sister, which is it? Fess up to the group! You're plainly not plain and that's all there is to it.

Two so very dissimilar posts...and in the same thread, even! In a few short posts you went from "That's why I'm so cracked you see" to "Peanuts are not nuts. They're legume's." I rest my case.

OK, miss smarty pants. Now that you've stuck your, er..um foot in it, what are legumes? No help from the subbie crowd, now. Let's see if she can answer, or if her brain has reverted back to "being" a nut.

The clock is ticking...tick...tock...tick...tock <---simulated clock ticking because you can't hear me actually saying the words and see me stannding with arms crossed, tapping my foot...waiting.

Ok, you've got me. I'm weird. Literally, I've had three shrinks tell me that I'm weird. I've taken tons of tests and all they can tell me is that my mind doesn't work like normal people's. What's normal, and who gets to decide? *shrugs* Suffice to say that my mind is a very chaotic place to be. My mom says while most people brains will go from point a to point c via point b, I go another way. I'll still get to point c, but on my own. lol

As for what a legume is, I'm not sure, to tell the truth. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none. I know that nuts are grown on trees, and that peanuts are grown underground, rather like a potatoe. I also know that you have to let peanut shells dry, where as you don't really with nuts. I think I read somewhere that black eyed peas are also legumes, so I'm guessing that legumes are like beans and stuff. I'm doing a google search as we speak.

Ok, just checked and I was right. *nyah nyah nyah*
Well, sorta. Legumes are beans, but they're also peas.

Something about they bringing nitrogin into the soil, which explains why peanuts are good crops to have every few years to keep your soil from getting depleted and becoming barren. It also said something about how legumes can be split down the center, and stuff, but I got bored, and came back here to gloat.

*dances in circle* I was right, I was right, I was right. :D

I don't know what's scarier, that we understand eachother, or that their are two (or three - shy slave) out there! And we found eachother.

Know what I was thinking after you started singing the coconut song? I was thinking of Lion King, where the bird says "Oh, I never had to do this with Mufasa." "What? You know the law! Never mention his name in my presence!" I watch too many kid movies.

Sounds like we have the same life (read into that . . . none). lol We all need to get out more. If we lived near eachother . . . but we don't. *sigh*

"It's a small world after all.."

OMG after I put that post up, I went into the kitchen and was humming that! LOL I can even see scar rolling his eyes as the bird guy starts singing that. All I can say is if that's the only obnoxious song he could think of, he's pathetic. I know songs way more obnoxious than it's a small world.

Zazu. His name is Zazu! (I work with munchkins. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

LOL that's right. I spend all my day with munchkins, too. Three to five of them, but they haven't watched lion king in a few months. These says they're doing pocohantas. *sigh* And I used to like that movie.

They just released a special "Alladin" dvd. The two spots I didn't have memorised previously are now seared into my grey matter. I'll never get those braincells back!

Are you left handed, by chance?

Legumes are plants that have pods with tidy rows of seeds inside. This category includes beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts. Peanuts are also called goobers or goober peas.

You understand her perfectly? I have no problem understanding her, it's the method of her madness that intriged me. That's all. yours isn't far behind. Are you maybe left handed?

And, as for me looking nervous, whatever gave you that idea? I'm way too far along in life to get nervous. Actually, I was wondering which of my electrical toys serves up the best jolt.

Maybe you could tell me. Do I need a converter for the electricity in Canada? :D
