"I meant to say this" and "it's a typo"

you should change your title to: excuse excuses.
another attention whore who is angry at the world.

no, he is an attention whore and I willl no longer give him the satisfaction. Wish more people would follow suit.

oh sure, like you give us so many reasons to follow your skillful and knowledgeable lead.

You only say that because you can't admit you're wrong.
ah yes, the old "can't admit you're wrong" defense which is so common these days. But, what exactly have I been wrong about?

So your not going to continue posting in this thread you created especially for him?

Scott, maybe you could tell us who you got your degree from. If some school actually granted you andadvanced degree in any area of Literature they should lose their accreditation immediately.

You don't know enough about Literature to pass an 8th grade remedial English class.

I guarantee I scored higher on my SAT'S than you. I also have more balls than you for posting stories and going head to head w/ many here. Your turn, fruitcake.

So you still think Nabokov is an American novelist?

Did you write your master's thesis on Lolita?

no, I wrote it on 3 American novels. Glad to see people care so much about the education of others.

and you think you're funny. Guess we both lose.

Thank god...he finally admitted he lost. I was really starting to wonder when he was going to muster up at least a bit of self respect. Better late than never.

Hey Q.......hope all is well. :)

Not as new as you may think, but some of us know how to keep our mouths shut and our mind, eyes and ears open. You should really, really consider trying this approach in life. Call it your New Years resolution.

There are many things I do not know and many things I am not an expert in, admittedly. I do not even have a degree for that matter, but you will be hard pressed to ever bust me claiming I have or know something I don't. Gee, your advanced education degree, and you are still as stupid as your posts just today alone have shown. But worse than stupidity, will always be dishonesty.

It's obvious that Scott X, Loving Tongue and Frimost were classmates who all graduated from the University of De Nial.

Their CVs display vast experience in troublemaking, projecting, backpedaling and obfuscation. With liberal amounts of verbosity.

Translation: After 5 pages and several other threads, I've learned I can lie better about having a degree in Literature if I don't actually answer any questions about literature.

read her question again.

Yeah, and? She clearly specified AMERICAN authors. You are such a gas!!

Edited add: Didn't see that Pookie had already quoted this. Oh well--Scott, you're a gem! And, I'm jealous of you. I wanted to study American Lit in college, but I couldn't speak Russian fluently.

Q, I really think we should talk about American Literature. I would love for Scotty to enlighten us.

Scotty, what are the 5 quintessential American novels in your opinion? And why, do you select those 5?

What themes in American literature do you believe are distinctly American? And what authors, do you believe, are true products of American society.

Did you specialize on any time period in American literature or possibly a region/genre?

What do you think about female American authors and which do you think have had the greatest impact on American literature?

well, this thread isnt about taste. btw, I do like Great Gatsby.

weevil, you joined the list.

Q, as for female American authors (which people seem to be obsessing about in this thread), I like Toni Morrison.

Do you actually read what you type? You're the biggest moron I've ever seen on Lit, and that's saying something. You can't even name 5 American novels right, even with Google at your command. And you expect people to believe you have a degree in literature? I've tutored community college freshmen that could do better than you. It really may help you if you learn to interpret what others are saying, you seem to just enjoy spewing garbage and contradicting yourself at every turn. But, hey, if that's your thing...

PS. Dumbass

I meant to say Morrison originally. Q, seriously, stop with the attitude. What exactly are you trying to prove here?

I'm sorry, I thought I had made that clear. I am proving that you are a liar.

I think it maybe a compulsive thing. I've read through some of his posts and he just can't stop and can't admit he's wrong when it's been shoved under his nose. Anyone a psychologist? Help this poor boy.

I can't seem to find it now either. But I think he had originally posted the name Toni Morrison as a great American female author and then edited it to read Emily Bronte.

That certainly is a strange this to do.

This is priceless.

So, he said Toni Morrison, then changed his mind (probably got cold feet because he wasn't sure if Toni Morrison was male or female), and replaced her name with Emily Bronte. Then when he got called on the fact that Bronte was English, he switched back to Morrison.

Boy, you can't pay for this kind of entertainment!
