How can I be condescending on this topic? You're the one with the Masters in Literature. I only took 1 literature class in undergrad unless you count all the German literature classes I took as part of my German degree.
say something in German.

Scotty, what are the 5 quintessential American novels in your opinion? And why, do you select those 5?

And what authors, do you believe, are true products of American society.

Did you specialize on any time period in American literature or possibly a region/genre?

*snort*

Kein Problem.

Was soll ich dann sagen? Willst du dass ich am Deutsches Literatur reden? Ich kann dass einfach machen. Aber ich muss dir erklaeren dass mein Deutsch nicht mehr so gut ist. Ich kann mich nicht mehr an der Grammatik erinnern.

Alles klar?

Do you simply enjoy proving over and over how much of an idiot you are?

look in the isolated blurt thread. Take that advice.

Speaking of advice, you should have taken mine earlier, when I suggested you give up pretending you have a degree in Literature.

You've completely blown it. Orwell, Shelley and Bronte were all British. Nobody is apt to believe that someone who has a degree in American Lit would think they were American.

Give it up, Scotty.

How can I drop it, I'm still waiting for you to name a single female American novelist.

Tell ya what. I'll go watch Survivor, and give you plenty of time to try to Google one up.

Hint: Charlotte Bronte was English too.

He named Toni Morrison. He apparently watches Oprah.

On this thread? I scrolled back and I don't see it.
I can't seem to find it now either. But I think he had originally posted the name Toni Morrison as a great American female author and then edited it to read Emily Bronte.

That certainly is a strange this to do.

I meant to say Morrison originally. Q, seriously, stop with the attitude. What exactly are you trying to prove here?

He is trying to prove you don't really have a masters degree in American lit.

"I meant to say this" and "it's a typo"

you should change your title to: excuse excuses.
