I don't hear much from our represenatives about poicies that would end welfare. I think it is clear that politicians want their constituents to be dependent upon them as a means to ensure re-election. So here's what I think: 1.) Term limits so that there is no incentive to make people dependent. 2). Establish a way to make companies produce their products here to employ people and not outsource to foreign countries where they avoid labor and environmental laws. 3.) reduce taxes to put money in the hand of private citizens so that they could use it as they see fit. 4.)Establish the expectation of personal responsibility including living within one's means. For instance, only having children you can afford and acknowledging that raising a child is incredibly expensive and the responsibility for that child is yours. 5.) We have to stop corporate welfare. 6.) Redifining welfare as a safety net for people who fall on hard times and not as a lifestyle.
In truth, we have to get back to basics. We have to remember we're all in this together and right now we are being torn apart. We cannot be greedy. Wealth is not distributed fairly. Corporations make too much and are subsidised with taxpayer money too much. Entertainers make too much. A baseball player worth $350 million. Oprah worth God knows what. Actors making $20mil for some piece of shit movie.
I'd like a leader who will lead us ALL to a society where Welfare won't be needed as much.
But, Americans seem to be work averse.
