I don't hear much from our represenatives about poicies that would end welfare. I think it is clear that politicians want their constituents to be dependent upon them as a means to ensure re-election. So here's what I think: 1.) Term limits so that there is no incentive to make people dependent. 2). Establish a way to make companies produce their products here to employ people and not outsource to foreign countries where they avoid labor and environmental laws. 3.) reduce taxes to put money in the hand of private citizens so that they could use it as they see fit. 4.)Establish the expectation of personal responsibility including living within one's means. For instance, only having children you can afford and acknowledging that raising a child is incredibly expensive and the responsibility for that child is yours. 5.) We have to stop corporate welfare. 6.) Redifining welfare as a safety net for people who fall on hard times and not as a lifestyle.
In truth, we have to get back to basics. We have to remember we're all in this together and right now we are being torn apart. We cannot be greedy. Wealth is not distributed fairly. Corporations make too much and are subsidised with taxpayer money too much. Entertainers make too much. A baseball player worth $350 million. Oprah worth God knows what. Actors making $20mil for some piece of shit movie.
I'd like a leader who will lead us ALL to a society where Welfare won't be needed as much.
But, Americans seem to be work averse.

the plan to end welfare is the bin next to the plan to teach the moon how to make ice cream, the plan make candy bars out of nothing but cockroach wings and baking soda and the plan to take anything your dumbass says seriously.

End welfare?

There are serious private sector profits at stake here, and they're more than happy to spend a chunk of that revenue stream to keep the status quo.

Farm subsidies should be renamed "farm stamps", so conservatives could vote against them.

That's nice.

I'd like to have sex with Quinne Suicide, myself.

Why do you say that?
Is the status quo actually OK?
I don't think it is.
Do you believe that the government is the only agency that should legitimately help the poor?

How much do you give to the poor, on a monthly basis?

How would I figure that out? We all support the poor through our taxes. I provide service to the poor on a daily basis. I support the dedicated Charitable arm of my church. I basically just do whatever is asked of me to the extent that I can. The largest part by far is my pro-bono work.

That is because people are generally satisfied with the Clinton-era welfare reforms. Welfare is no longer an issue.
Really? I would think that with the unemployment rate so high, there are a lot more poor people out there.

The unemployment rate is going down....slowly, but that's partially because the stoopid sequester is inhibiting job creation.

The deficit is going down too. That's what happens when more people go back to work and pay taxes.

So, you don't actually know anything about the problem?

Being unemployed does not automatically qualify anyone for welfare.

Because that's a bad policy...the country all around does better with welfare, fact.

1.) Term limits so that there is no incentive to make people dependent.

We have term limits, every 2/4 years, they are called elections.

2). Establish a way to make companies produce their products here to employ people and not outsource to foreign countries where they avoid labor and environmental laws.

Then no one will buy their products. The only reason a smart phone doesn't cost as much as a shiny new BMW M5 is b/c it's outsourced. In fact the only reason our privileged ass 1st world lives are what they are in this country is b/c we outsource.

Our lives of luxury are made possible by the slave labor none of us want to look at.

3.) reduce taxes to put money in the hand of private citizens so that they could use it as they see fit.

No argument there....but we got some serious fuckin' bills to pay bubba....I'm sorry you and the GOP don't want to pay but think about that next time you go tearing ass across the globe to drop a few trillion on making our freedom herd at the muzzle of an M4.

4.)Establish the expectation of personal responsibility including living within one's means. For instance, only having children you can afford and acknowledging that raising a child is incredibly expensive and the responsibility for that child is yours.

"personal responsibility" what a crock of fucking shit cop out pile of right wing bull fucking shit. Yes what you put up is the ideal thought process....reality mother fucker is that people don't. We are programmed at a base chemical level to fuck and make babies. So why don't you and all the other "Personal responsibility" and "Just say no!" morons just stop with that bullshit...it's NEVER going to happen. So you can fund his/her .99c condom, her 30 dollar a month box of pills, her 500 dollar abortion or you can fund her 2.5 million dollar unwanted kid in the system.

Amazingly after all their bullshit talk about small government, saving money and personal responsibility....the GOP will vote in favor of the 2.5 million dollar future felon every fuckin' time. Morons...and you all wonder why.

5.) We have to stop corporate welfare.

Starting with the military industrial complex. We can turn that shit off all together and we would still have 15 years before anyone could even THINK about touching us.

6.) Redifining welfare as a safety net for people who fall on hard times and not as a lifestyle.

I thought the goal was to get rid of it?? You moving goal post before anyone challenges or what?

I agree, corporate subsidies should be ended. Let them work for a living.

I won't argue with that.

Farm subsidies should be renamed "farm stamps", so conservatives could vote against them.

One way or another people will pay the farmers, they could end the subsidies right now, farmers would still get paid. Loaf of bread cost ya 19.99 ;)

Really? I would think that with the unemployment rate so high, there are a lot more poor people out there.

What does welfare have to do with causing unemployment?
