Just a quick note ... I'll be sporadically on and off the computer for the rest of this week and then out touch for a week starting this Friday.

We're going to a gay science fiction convention in Toronto  ... then driving south to visit my partner's family  ... then going to Niagara Falls :nana:.

There is supposed to be internet access at the hotels, but I am not going to bet on it. As for reading Lit at the in-laws ... I believe I may end up hitchhiking home if I do that.

Anything outstanding will be completed prior to my leaving. Anyone that has something longish and can bear to wait a week or more for comments, can send it prior by Thursday evening and I'll load it on a memory stick and work on it as I sulk in the hotel room during the convention.

If you make a stop in NB I'd be happy to get you and your partner for dinner one night RL. :)

Have a great trip (if that's possible when in-laws are involved). Don't miss the Thousand Islands (especially number 427) :)

You're gay?

I just dumped my next seven chapters into your inbox - can you have them done by say, tomorrow night? I didn't have time to do a rewrite, they're too long - so they're rough draft...

Let me know. :emoticon:

Thanks LadyC, but we're sticking to southern Ontario for this trip. The East Coast is tempting .... maybe next year. :D

Fiery Jen and CC ... I'm sure it will be fun (but I'm not going to admit that to my partner ... I want to milk the whole inlaw catastrophe for all it's worth  ). As for the 1000 Islands ... other than the dressing, its kinda blah. :) Except Bolt Castle .. that was kind of cool.

Selena ... no.

Kbate ... I will edit all your stories tonight if you promise to hold out till July 1st for the birth of little Kbate Jr. I want to win that damned pool.

ps: I'm not really gay ... I'm just moderately happy some of the times.

One of my favorite Colleen Thomas lines... From "Twas the Night Before."

"You don't think super Santa crosses all those restricted airspaces for free do you? I mean, he's going ninety to nothing on the magic dust, but he still can't out run a surface-to-air missile. And then there all the special "representatives" you have to placate. I mean, you come bounding down a chimney in Northern Ireland or east L.A. and some one is likely to pop a cap in your ass."
Off topic - how sad to lose Colleen. She was such a wonderful lady. The world is a better place for her having lived in it.

Wait? They are Gay Science Fiction conventions?

Q_C

Here's hoping you bring back photos from that con, of the costumes of course.

Miss you Rogue Cheese.

Make sure you tell us all about the nerd. er... geek.. er SF convention.

Above all, don't anger the people who've been beamed up to the mother ship before they could don their helmets.

Other than the falls themselves, there is nothing worth seeing on the US side of Niagara. The Canadian side is so much cleaner and the hotels are bigger, nicer, and newer. Quite frankly, I think that even the people are nicer on the Canadian side.

A gay science fiction convention - talk about narrowing down your target audience.

Yeah....what he said!!!! :D

Back ... exhausted.

The science fiction convention ... What can I say other than gay nerds? I got a hangover, I got a sunburn and I got lots of books. I also got a trump card that I can play for the next three years ... anytime I dont' want to go somewhere or do something that my parnter wants to, I can just look solemn and say "Gaylaxicon" ... free pass, no arguements.

Three days with the inlaws ... awkward and uncomfortable. Thunderstorms down there are impressive, though.

Niagara Falls .... Wow. Just Wow.

Not the trip that I would have planned, but in the end I enjoyed myself. A week without the house, the chores, the dog, the jobs, the "everything" getting in the way.

When the trip starts with the words "Oh, we don't need a map ... I know where we're going", this does not bode well. ;)

Welcome back.

Surely you realized that mentioning Niagara Falls would force some smart-ass to make the obvious response: "Help! It's fallen and it can't get up!"

Something isn't it! It's one of the best scam tours ever.
