we recently took some photos on our vacation
that are a little x-rated and were wondering if
anyone knows a good place to get photos like
this developed (in Canada). in the past we've
taken our more "tasteful" shots to london
drugs and haven't had a problem but we're not
too sure about these ones...

Ask your druggist. I'm sure he's aware of the sexual pecadilloes of hundreds of people, and he wouldn't be successful if he didn't keep his mouth shut. He's probably been asked before, too.

Get a good digital carmera (now less than $200 us) and a good photo printer less than ($300 us) and its not a problem.

note: some stores have photo machines that develop pictures from a floppy, but that process is expensive and you must stand in the store and do it.

Or you can trust someone you do not know to develop them for you.

The poster just wants a roll of film developed, and you offer advice on producing porn.

phrodeau, If your post was directed to me, i would like to say this about that.

In some places porn is still frowned on even in this day, if not illegal. Sometimes people who let negetives leave out of their hands get turned over to people they had rather not have them. Sometimes they get posted on the internet without the owners knowing about it.

Beter safe than sorry!

:D

I have a good answer to this question for you but it's lost in the depths of another thread (the 50 page long BDSM thread, to be precise) and i'm trying to dig it out.

Hang on.

I'll find it.

I agree; there have been a number of cases where photos ranging from slightly risque to full out X-Rated have wound up in the hands of unauthorized people. It doesn't happen to everybody, but it is not a bad idea to be cautious about photos you don't want somebody else to have.

I know of a case where a woman who is estranged from her grandparents because of what they did to her, but the grandparents would and have gone to great lengths to get pictures of her. When she was graduating from high school she went to a photographer to have grad photos taken, the grandparents found out which photographer this was (same one for all of the school) and went there and arranged to pick up copies of the photos.

She found out about it by chance, and before they could pick them up she went there and got all photos and negatives.

Found it!

BDSM thread, page 6 and 7 (and i started from the other end, of course...)

FYI: Many of the links to kink-friendly photog establishments listed at alt.com are dead.

Additionally, one can find good links viz a google search, for example, but you'll have to wade through a *lot* of places that don't want this kind of business to find the ones who aren't opposed to it.

That said, i sent emails of inquiry to several businesses about the processing of this film. Here's the email i sent:
>Hello,
>
>I have a couple disposable cameras worth of pictures to be developed. The pictures are sexually graphic and contain consensual and completely legal pictures that are explicitly and edgily BDSM in nature. In other words, they're pictures of piercing, flogging, anal play, ect... and all of it between two consenting adults.
>
>Will you develop such pictures, put them onto a disc, and send them back to me?
>
>Thanks for considering my request,
>cym

I rec'd replies to every email i sent. A few of the replies told me reasons why they couldn't process my film. Three of the replies were standouts, and it is one of the three to whom i'll send the film (if my mother EVER gets it sent up here). The three best replies i got are:

Dear Cym,
We have not problems with with the type of pictures you have mentioned in you e-mail. We will not do beastility or photos of children (under the age of 18 ) These are both illegal. We do have a couple of other thing that we will not do like suffication...sometimes people do things for excitment that we just don't feel confortable duplicating in anyway, but the things
you mentions ...NO problem.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. We will look forward to doing business with you.

Photographic Impressions

Good morning,
We can process and print the film you speak of.

For your information:
There is one Federal law that we must follow in regards to BD/SM.
If your images depict sexual penetration while both hands of
the other person are bound in such a way that normal movement
is restricted, then we can not develop such images.

Your choice of 3.5" floppy or CD along with your prints is ok with an additional charge of $10 per roll.
Thank you for your interest in our services.

Yolie's Digital Imaging & Photography

Hello cym,
Processing your film is not a problem, been doing this for 15 years . . . for pricing please check out the order form on my website: www.yolie.com . . and also see the "Film Processing" page for pricing on scans to floppy or Cd.

Turnaround time is usually 3-5 days for completion. ( If you send a Check, there will be a delay in sending you the finished product for 1 1/2 weeks - to clear the check- (normal procedure). If you want to pay be visa or charge card, I will send you a copy of the transaction . . . and I am the only one who will process your card transaction.

If you have any concerns or other questions don't hesitate to give me a call M - F 10:30 - 4:30

So, happily, i think there's a bunch of trustworthy people out there to process these kinda pics.

Just thought y'all might want this info sometime and wanted to be thorough. Besides, you were nice enough to give me links when i asked.

Just about any good custom color lab will do them for you. They can be found in most Photo Mag's.

However, there is no dought in my mind that a second set of prints will be made and added to a collection:D :D :D

The power of digital photography...........................

ok, I've been using digital cameras fro nearly all of my photo's of ANY kind, over the last 3 years now, I probably couldn't use my 35mm if I HAD to anymore, to be honest.

What people are tellnig you abotu having a GOOD digital is correct, it's BEST for this type of thing, then you have control over the whole process. What people are telling you abtou ahving them develloped is also correct, you CAN go to jail if someone finds what they are developing to be obscene. Is it worth going to jail?

Now I know this is VERY expensive, but what about learning how to develop them yourself? What about a community college near you, that you can take classes at, and find out if you are able to have lab time, unsupervised?

Just my worthless thoughts on the your "predicament".

My choice...

Blondie's Photo Processing
http://www.affections.com/photo.html

I've sent them 5 or 6 rolls of film to be processed. Thier prices are good, you can get them on diskettes or CD's or as pics, and they're fast.

I've sent them some *exceedingly* X-rated stuff, pictures WAY into the realm of heavy BDSM play, and never had a problem with them not wanting to deal with the content.

AJ, my darling, you know i only go to the best to learn tricks and secrets. Chey's the best there is at this kinda thing, isn't she? In this case, however, i just remembered that i'd asked the same question only a few months back - and gotten some really good answers, too.

Why won't you stick to one nick?
You and Cath and Todd... the unholy three of nick changing.
