Where do you write?

What is your favorite place to write erotic stories?
What are some of the more interesting places you have written?

Another thread here (How many people in real life know you write erotica?) got me thinking about where other people write their stories for this site. It's not quite the same as a "where have you had sex" type of question, but it almost feels like it.

Personally, my favorite writing location is while I'm commuting to and from work. Bus, carpool, or train, it all works out the same. There is at least an hour of quiet time, no one bothering me, and nothing else I could be doing but staring out the window.

Other places:

At work:
at my desk
in a lunch room booth
dull business meetings
park benches during lunch hour

Home:
kitchen table
couch
relaxing on the porch

The houses of friends & family:
during football season, all eyes are on the TV, not my laptop while I'm "working"
family get-togethers when I need a break from the horde

Other:
coffee shop
airport
airplane
bus
train
ferry
the bar (notes, scenes, and ideas all get written on my phone)
In the car during road trips

Wow, this long list makes me feel like a perv. Please tell me everyone here has just as many on their lists so I can feel better about myself. :D

In one place, on my "porn/erotica" computer. Nearby is the "browsing YouTube" computer so if the kids/friends/tradesmen walk into the room I can be watching the "sneezing Panda" or some such rubbish.

@CeasarBoobage: That's a great way of spending travelling time. Even if someone happens to glance at the screen they just see a lot of words, not like porn pictures.

Usually I write at my desk in the corner of my bedroom. I use to write erotica quite often in a local coffee shop and sometimes at my old job in a Catholic School during my breaks. Now my current job is so busy I only get time at home if I'm not too exhausted.

TEX-RFD turned me ON to a great place to write, THE BREAKFAST TABLE!

What TEX does is fill a bowl fulla ALPHABITS cereal and pour on the milk. When things is floating around pretty good what he does is make words from the cereal letters, and writes em on a sticky pad beside the bowl.

And i still write far more words a day more than you do.

Anyway, you still haven't learned to do the writing before you add milk.

Anywho, most of my writing is done at work during the boring times. Or in my home office, or on the screened in back porch early in the morning before it gets hot. One of my favorite places is on the deck overhanging the lake at one of the local bars,

When the muse gets ready to write it doesn't much matter where.

My wife has a favorite author Dab Harkness who writes fiction set in historical settings. Wife went to a book signing of Deb and she (Deb) gave a talk. She saves all of her notes and said she has one whole chapt. of one of her books written on the backs of bar napkins.

My PC is on a desk in my bedroom which is where I write when I can shake off the lazies. At other quit times I at least think of how I'm going write the next part no matter where I am located.Surprisingly some of my thoughts stay with me and get committed to the pixel count on my screen.

Usually I like to write when I'm distracted by something else xD so probably a desk or a couch.

Notes and brainstorming: on the floor-paper scattered
Character summarizing: at the kitchen table curled up on a chair in a fluffy robe
Actual writing: at the kitchen table in the robe, followed by a lot of pacing
Sex scenes: on the floor and/or the bath, with wine
Dialogue: at work

I tend to work on my laptop on the couch, but generally only late since my annoying neighbor likes to drop in at random times.

I wish I was your neighbour Tiny. We could have some interesting 'chats'. ;) Kitchen table and couch for me.

at clubs listening to latin jazz
my front porch
during chamber music
standing in swimming pools
on amusement park rides
on trains and airplanes
art museums

I think I need something around me to drown out distractions

even writing this I have fans running in the background and am listening to this

I just write in a simple room in front of a pc. Nothing fancy.

As far as ideas go, I try to think of them anywhere at anytime. Sometimes after I run outside and walk bake home I'll think (especially if I'm sitting and resting when I'm back). Or sometimes before bed or after I wake up. I'll think of a scene or dialogue and go "Perfect...exactly what I need" and just hope that I remember those ideas and/or dialogue word-for-word.

Then the next time I'm in front of the computer, I'll write it. I never sit in front of the computer if I have no idea what to write or how to continue.

I come up with my ideas all over the place, but writing takes place in my office in my apartment. Only place I have a computer that works good enough.

In my Man Room, at my computer desk, listening to music on an 'Oldies' radio station.

I write both erotic and non-erotic stories. No one is aware of the former, everyone to the latter. It's like having a secret identity; childish, I know, but then I'm childish by nature. Who needs reality anyway, it's boring. :D

Now that I'm riding again, I found a fabulous spot in the country with an exceptional view and total peace and quiet, so I write until the battery cuts out. I found 2 coffee shops and a hotel lounge with free wifi that cater to people like me who write, so I plug in and recharge, while I keep writing..

I can compose in my mind almost anywhere, but a lot of it gets done in my car, stuck in traffic, going to and from the day job.

But the actual writing? At the dining room table. Half the time, well, you know, without stuff on.

The actual business of getting stuff down on paper (or whatever it is inside my computer that stores the words), happens at my desk. But the 'writing' is probably a 50/50 split between thinking at my desk and thinking elsewhere - standing under the shower, lying awake in the middle of the night, walking in the park, travelling on the train, to name but a few places.

I also record stuff as I walk/hike and transcript it later.

In terms of coming up with ideas I do come up with a few good ones in the shower. Which reminds me, I should put a shower scene in my next story. =)

I finally have an office with a window in my home. I'm creating the perfect space--to be invaded by no one but my characters.

When I'm at home I write in what equates to the spare room; there's a little bed in there right by the window, it's at the back of the house so it's quiet, and I can get comfortable enough to relax and just get down to business. When I'm actually working I'm not writing, and when I'm at uni, well...

I've just recently found a place in the library that's perfect for writing. In fact, I'm sitting there right now; it's at the back of the study hall, where there's a bunch of couches as opposed to desks. It's in a corner, my seat is cushioned and one of the few with actual back support, there's a power point I can plug my laptop into, and even a wall behind me. The wall is important; I'm super paranoid about people reading over my shoulder, especially when I'm trying to write the graphic stuff. So this little place is perfect for grinding out a few paragraphs between classes. :D

I have small room which I ostentatiously call my "study", there are three identical desks pushed up in a "U" fashion. It's my favorite place to work and write - erotica or otherwise. Server on the left, computer in front, books and notes to the right. My slice of heaven!

as I live with a family member, in my room, when no one's home, or at least when no one is likely to bother me. I think anywhere, which sucks, 'cause I don't always remember what I wanted to say (can't make notes while moving stock around in the back room).
luckily I recently bought an awesome futon (well 3 months ago, still comfy) so I can sit comfortably while writing on my laptop (with my wireless key board).

Like the Fox above, I have a very small room (laughingly called a bedroom by Estate agents, aka 'the Box Room'), in which are my radios, tape recorders and my PC.
I spend a lot of time up here; one day, I might even finish a story well enough to sent to Lit.
