I am sure this thread has been done before, but I'm still quite new, so I'm gonna ask anyway. :)

From what I've seen it seems as a lot of you buy your sex toys online.

Why do you choose to buy online? Convenience? Discretion?

Who buys it in a store?

I buy online only cause the store around here is in a bad part of town...So to make it safe for me I buy online :)

I bought most of mine through mail order a long time ago from Adam&Eve. They have an online store as well now, but I haven't bought anything there. There's a store here in town called Christie's that is fairly upscale and in a nice "family-oriented" part of town (it's right next to a dry cleaner and an Oriental grocery store), and I've bought a few items there. Other places I've purchased were at lingerie/toy parties that a friend of mine used to host.

These day's, I'd probably purchase online simply because it's easier and quicker than mail-order, unless it's something I haven't seen before. Then I'd want to go to the store to check it out first. Sometimes the pics and descriptions online don't give enough info.

I love Toys In Babeland

I make a pilgrimage to their NYC store every so often. The staff is all woman, the store is cozy and comfy, and they have all the toys out so you can feel them rather than gazing through plastic. The selection is great, the staff is knowledgable, and there are a ton of cute lesbians in there at all times. What more could you ask for? They have an online store at www.babeland.com

I also love JT's Stockroom's selection of toys and apparel, but I haven't actually bought anything from them as of yet. I have heard other people say nothing but good things about them.

If you are in the Cambridge/Boston area, check out Hubba-Hubba on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge. They have a great selection of fetish wear, gear, and toys. The staff is super helpful-- I bought a corste there and the shop-boy fitted me and laced me into it without being pervy at all. (Oh well....)

I love to shop for toys. The thrill of browsing and comparing size and texture is a lot of fun. If you're feeling like a show-off, it can be fun to shop with a partner and do sex-toy performance art, but you might get frowned at, too. Your mileage may vary.

"Slumber Parties"

It's like Tupperware only Toys...lol Most of them keep a good running stock so you can have it the same time you order... It's great to have a group of like-minded women drinking, laughing and having fun...you get to sample lotions and potions... even "handle the merchandise" as they pass them around the circle...went to one last night, in fact. Check into it... if you have some friend, have a party....you won't regret it cause if they buy stuff then you get stuff free!!! It's all good...

I like http://goodvibes.com/

Their products are high quality. None of the novelty crap you see elsewhere. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. This store was also started by lesbians.

I've bought mine both online and instore. I live in a town that has NO good sex shops....so online is my only choice. But my b/f lives in Phoenix and there are some really great shops there, so when I'm there, I always check out either Facinations or Castle Boutique. I'm not embarrassed to go in a store and buy...nothing to BE embarrassed about...I mean...the other people shopping in there are there for the same reason, right? It's not like you're in your local grocery store browsing in "whips n paddles" and your pastor might walk up!

I have to buy online because there is no place to shop around here. My only problem lately is finding a place that will ship to KY. I ordered from Adult Shop before but now they no longer ship to KY and I was able to order from Adam & Eve but you can't get a printed catalog sent and forget about ordering videos from them also.
