Do you still live there? If not, why did you leave?

I'm pondering the first major move of my life....would love to hear your thoughts..

K

born and raised in central new york. 21 years. hope to get out soon.

Me too..... 24 years, except the 4 I went to college in Western NY.

The snow is kicking my ass this year!

Born in the midwest. Dragged to the west coast in 6th grade. I miss it back there, but I'm glad I dont have the snow half the year. Once in a while in the mountains is plenty.

Grew up in the service. Moved around every couple years, had three high schools. So I guess I would be at the opposite end of the spectrum, never having lived anywhere more than five years in my life. Now if I'm somewhere over three years I gotta see what's over the next hill. I don't really call any one place home, just wherever I hang My hat *Chuckle* :D ;)

With the internet and airplanes, I would opt for James' way of life. Move around and travel and make friends lots of places. Its easy to keep in touch and usually easy to visit once in a while.

I wouldnt dread the 'big move', go for it and travel.

Live in Reno, NV. I live in the house my grandparents built in 1946. I bought it from my parents 3 years ago. I've lived here all my life, save for a year I spent living in England.

Silverton, Oregon

15 miles East of Salem, in the foothills, 12 miles North of Silver Creek Falls State Park. The main part of town can be walked through in 5 minutes, and has been used as a backdrop for a Henry Weinhard's beer commercial. The main jobs are, logging, field harvesting, canneries, and growing pot in the hills.
I left because I wanted to marry my highschool sweetheart, and saw no future in logging or cannery work. I joined the military to get put of Silverton, and to provide a financial base for a new family. Now, I'm dreaming of moving back just for the atmosphere of a small town.

Born in Moscow USSR. Lived in Rostov on the Don where are most of my family. Moved to Evpatoria Ukraine. Moved back to Moscow Russian Federation. Moved to New York city United States of America where I reside currently

Bor in NJ, lived along the Jersey Shore, until I decided I needed a change of Life, moved away and started over fresh.

Born in the wild wholly west and moved from there as fast as I could. Did not like the cold weather.

Like James Mac....I too have moved a bit.....

Born Tulsa, OK....moved to Ft. Worth, Texas then Pine Bluff, AR then Houston, Texas.....back to Fort Worth, Texas. Joined the military many moons ago and lived all over the Asian and European continent then back to Texas and several states in between. After the Army moved back to Texas! Home is nice sometimes! ;)

Born in England...waaaay back, *Chuckle* then to Texas, Mass., Pa, Maine, Louisianna, Okinawa, North Dakota, Pa (Again) UK (Again) South Dakota, Uk (Again) North Dakota (Again) and New Mexico...not to mention a whole hoop of 3 to 6 month trips in exotic locations that Tour Guides don't even know exist...*Chuckle*

Born and grew up in Wisconsin (and i frequently get home sick!). i moved to Colorado when i was 19 to live with my sister. Very beautiful, but i hated it. i left Wisconsin, one, to get away from my ex (with him so close, it was too damned tempting to go right back to him) and two, to get away from the small town thing... i'm a city girl. But while i was in Colorado, i was in a small town, with no car, sucked. And then i feel in love with the most wonderful person online and as soon as i got a running vehicle, moved here to Virginia to be with him. We've been married now for 3 years. i have no regrets, but i do miss my family back home!

Grew up in a small po-dunk town in Colorado, lived there til I was 18, went to college about 4-ish hrs away on the other side of the state... Transplanted myself to Montana for a year.... moved back to Colorado to be with my honey and been back ever since!

Born and raised in KY, moved to AZ to live in sin with my now-husband-then-fiance, moved to St. Louis, MO, after the wedding, moved to Minneapolis, MN for a year and came close to freezing my tits off, moved to Indianapolis, IN, for a couple of years, til 9/11 shook up the airline industry and my hubby had to find a new job. Currently residing in Houston, TX.

Glad to have gotten the hell outta "Dodge." I even hate visiting that God-forsaken town.

I know that place!

grew up in small town in pennsylvania. boring, no jobs, no future.

college in maryland, and i've been staying in and around DC ever since. I'm not convinced it's home. I'm not homesick for PA - just not thinking that this is where I'll always be. But there's lots of work, I like my job, and my friends.. so I'll be here for a while longer.

Born and raised in central Ohio. 4 years military, married in Ohio.
After military lived in, Micigan, Massachusits, Oklahoma, now in California.

Staten Island NY, was a great place in the seventies, lots of open space, parties and good friends. The 80's saw a ton of overbuilding and now its jampacked with ugly townhouses and more cars than roads. Glad I left, found a place that still has the smalltown feel in NJ.

Then there's me. i was born in a mid-sized town in Colorado and lived there until i was ten, then moved to Akron, Yuma, Grand Junction (for college), and Craig (all in Colorado). The then-fiancee and i took off for Pennsylvania, then Utah, and back to Grand Junction, then cricketbug and i took off to Montana together. She went back to Colorado and i stayed up there for a while, met my Husband, and He brought me to Arkansas.
