When's Bush going to do something I can write about?

Come to that, when's Bush going to do something?

What would you like him to do, p_p_man? I am sure he would welcome any intelligent suggestions that you have to offer. You can write him at www.whitehouse.gov. Every little bit helps!!

Our hero just signed an Executive Order

making it more difficult to get at presidential writings, rescinding earlier orders that allowed access under FOIA. He also, throgh his lackey, John Ashcroft, continues to erode personal liberties under the guise of "war time" necessities. And, add to that his support of his GOP constituency in the face of an economic downturn in the U.S.

Come on PP; there's so much you can write about. Btw, do you think that I used the ";" properly in the earlier sentence? I'm always a little confused about it's proper usage.

p.s. I don't think that STG likes you very much. I bet you're crushed.

Thanks blue. Will take it away for research and plunder the feelings of Americans on their love of free speech and the Freedom of Information Act...I'll probably throw in a bit of "what comes first? The security of the Nation or the free exchange of knowledge" with a bit of "will this extend to the use of the internet?" thrown in for good measure. Maybe I'll ask people to discuss whether or not these restrictions will extend long after bin Laden has been found and the Bush "war" on terrorism has been forgotten (by Bush anyway!)

As you say plenty to talk about!:D

I was always taught that at the beginning of a list of phrases the colon [:] is used and each phrase is separated by a semi-colon [;]. But as time passed and memory started to fade I thought 'fuck it who cares?' and gave up trying to be grammatically correct!:)

Yeah I had noticed STG has a certain animosity towards me. Can't think why!

Dun lots

He's done plenty (some of which was mentioned above) that should make you glad you are where you are.

Now, what's he done that might make you happy? Another question altogether.

Our Man Blair, the Boy Wonder, has used the "war" to clamp down on immigrants. Making their lot a more sorry one than it was already (well it will be once the Act is passed). This isn't too bad from most Brits point of view because immigration has got more than a little out of control.

The Government knows neither how many are in the UK or where they are!

Bit strange that from a control freak like Tony.

But we've already been through all this restriction of information from past wars. We now have a wonderful document called The Official Secrets Act under which an individual can be prosecuted "To The Fullest Extent Of The Law" (why do they always say that?) for amongst other things, disclosing how many biscuits a civil servant has with his tea!

Great things wars. Governments can do what they like to their own civilian population. Just say it's in the interests of Security. I could say one word to that. But I won't. Yes I will...

Bollocks!

:(

What's that saying?

The first victim of war is truth? It's as good an excuse to abuse civil liberties as any elected official will ever get.

Now what's the story with that Danish election, Mr. EU Flag Waver? Are the Liberals in Denmark conservative? Did my watch stop? It still says 1984.
