WIWAK cooties were very rare. When my kids were little in primary school, cooties became a nightmarish bane in my life. Eeww ... Just the memory makes me wanna wash my hair :(

When I was a kid (but according to some people I still haven't grown up) Tonka trucks were made out of metal, Bugs Bunny was my favorite cartoon, our microwave took up most of the counter and gas was .88 a gallon....
 
... grunge rock was new & awesome, it took a blizzard to have a snow day off from school, and CDs were the newest form of media to purchase music

WIWAK the Card Catalog in the Library was "Google." We didn't have computers. We didn't even have electric typewriters!!:cattail:
 
wiwak an APPLE was something you ate, WINDOWS was something you looked out of, a PROGRAM was something on the TV and THE WEB was something you brushed out of the corners.
 
Wiwak CB radios were the going thing for several years. I had a Betamax VCR, party lines where still being used in the rural area. A&W Root beer used to come in brown glass jugs. The initials for A&W used to be Albert & Walter, not Alvin & Wright. Lawn darts and klackers on strings were also must have toys.

In my school 2 kids were killed having a sleep over in a tent in a back yard when some older kids thought it would be funny to throw fire crackers into the tent and cut the guide ropes. 2 other kids survived with serious 3rd degree burns. One of those survivors was in my class. He is disfigured for life. This was the incident that was the impetus to fire works being banned in Canada. Ianm you still cannot buy fire crackers in Canada.

In another incident a kid in my jr high school blew 2 toes off his foot making a pipe bomb.
These 2 incidents were in elementary and jr high. My HS was relatively calm in comparison.
 
WIWAK the dishwasher was on wheels and pushed up to the sink with a hose attached to the faucet when in use.
 
WIWAK we had Pop Rocks candy. And Razzles. And Bottle Caps.
 
When I was a kid, owning a Teddy Ruxpin was every kids dream...
