Although I haven't seen it here, I wish my fellow Democrats would stop their popular vote belly-aching.
Looking inside the numbers tells a completely different story (using the numbers on CNN.com)
Clinton won NY and CA by a combined 4,949,585 votes
Yet she leads nationally by only 2,638,330 votes
A little subtraction shows Trump won the other 48 states by a combined 2,311,255 votes.
If you're using popular vote, you don't let two states decide the election.
As Democrats we survived 12 years of Reagan/Bush and 8 years of Bush light, so 4 years of Trump will be tough, but we'll make it through.
The mid-terms in 2018 will be interesting. The majority of Senate seats up for election are currently Republican, it will be interesting to see how many, if any, flip to Democrat.
