When Do Some People Have Time to Write?

I have seen some writers who have been registered a few months or less but they already have thousands of posts on these threads. Assuming they also read the other posts on the threads where they have posts, when do they have time to do any writing. I have been registered for about seven months and as of now, have fewer than 100 posts. I enjoy putting in my nickel's worth now and then (inflation) but I do have a life outside of here.

I don't know. It seems like sometimes the stories just pour out like a river. Other times it's weeks before they want to be written down.

When a story has cooked long enough in my head, I find the time. Sometimes, I'll write all night. Sometimes a story will be written up to a point then it just stops. Sometime later it begins to pour out again.

Just depends on the kind of story I think.

I know the title of the place is Author's Hangout. But who says we all write? Some have given up on writing. Some haven't posted a story, ever and some are between writing. Some do nothing else but write and still find time to post on the boards. (I'm guessing that Chicklet writes in her sleep)

Dear Gauchie,
I'm in one of those two categories. Guess it's too soon to know which one. I sort of lean towards the "given up," though.

Ps. Jenny, He was talking about posts, not stories. Not that it makes much difference.

Some lead balanced lives. :D

You get to the point where you check the Ah and do your posting on active threads then you go and write a while. When the inspiration fades or you get to a stopping point you can pop back and answer on the Ah. My writing time is also my play time on the Ah, you just have to budget according to where you are having the most fun on any given day :)

Re. number of posts vs. stories posted, some of us don't write erotica only. For myself, I see no reason to post non-erotic stories on Lit.

Perdita,

Is there a place where I can read your non-erotic work?

PM me if you wish.

Depends how your life is structured. I usually spend between 4 and 6 hours on the AH per day, in the evenings, writing NaNo stuff and posting in between.

Me, I work in front of a computer in my home office anyway, so I sneak in on short breaks from the editing or whatnot att through the day. Especially if the weather sucks, and a quick leg around the block is not an option.

The secret to my high post count is word games...I play over at the playground alot..and i think word association is the thread i post most on...you're only required to post one word per post*L*

Writing happens when it happens..I can't force it so i tend to find i do far more posting than actual story writing*L* i keep up the stories though..at a slow trickle*L*

I have a life outside of Lit...

I find that I only post here when I don't having something else going on in my life.. The same is true for my writing.
