In terms of national unity, what the people think of their leader is arguably as important or more important than what the leader does or doesn't do.

America could benefit from unity of purpose and action during the pandemic/economic crisis.

As far as the VP pic goes how could it even matter? With Joe's brain power at the helm the whole world will sail into peaceful waters But I do agree that the punch list of what makes the best VP should focus on what really matters and not things that are trivial. So the two most important things are:
1. Gender = female
2. Race = black (since their lives matter)

So that being said I think that Mrs. Clinton is the best choice. Remember slick Willy declared that he was the first black president. So, if we are big enough to look beyond the surface we should see that deep down both Clintons have hearts that are as black as coal.
