what's your writing gender?

How interesting! I must look into this further. I've always thought you could pick the gender of an author from the way they write (particularly fiction), seems someone's trying to prove it.

I put in a few pars of "From Helen With Love" and came out heavily female.

The Warrior's Song: Female Score: 1126, Male Score: 924

I Alone: Female Score: 1182, Male Score: 736

And Justice For All (nonfiction): Female Score: 3118, Male Score: 4800

Interesting. I suppose when I write nonfiction I'm less feminine.

I am very distressed. This thing obviously does not work. 4 stories, all said I was female. This has made my soul cry a little.

What a fascinating tool!

Most my stories here seem to be female voice or 50/50 split. My novel, which advances the story through the eyes of either the female or male protagonist runs true to protagonist gender - at least, on the half dozen chapters I checked.

The only incest story I've written (Amy in sig) came out heavily female (70/30)

I submitted several stories that I have written and also that I'm currently working on. Some of those stories are written from the perspectives of both men and women and so I ended up with a mix of gender.

I guess that makes me the transexual writer. Jesus Christ, just what I wanted to grow up to be. The folks will be so proud! :p

My Vday comp work in progress

I ran three stories. It told me I was a dyke :(

Is that new?

There have been similar tests before. They seem to work on sentence structure and keywords.

Depending on which story I use, I'm in-your-face masculine; decidedly feminine; and Breathless Stargazing gives the system heart failure.

Your gender scores, at least for your 1st two seem indicative of the stance taken by your characters in the stories :D. I think that the scores that reflect this are by far most indiciative of how well you write. If in your gay make story you seem to write as a male, then you've pulled it off magnificently. Did that make sense?

Two heavy on romance, two heavy on stroke, one LW story, and one horror, all pegging me as female. Perhaps this is why over 50% of my regular readership is female...

For kicks I ran a part from Cherry Hill Ch. 01... using the same number of words from Darkness and the same number from my own work. . .

And yet a lot of people thought that "The Story of O" had to be written by a man - until Anne Desclos revealed herself.

Must try that test later...

What can I say- I may be a switch hitter but I'm still a chick.

My fourth grade English teacher was a female. Think she influenced me that much?

I tried four of mine.

Three came up as significantly female.

One came up as male: My pastiche of Jonathan Swift - Gulliver in Lilliput

Obviously my attempt at Jonathan Swift worked!

At the bottom of the analysis it list keywords that are either feminin or masculin. I'm not sure I understand why words like
'if', 'with', 'not', 'and', 'myself' are regarded as feminin while words such as
'at', 'it', 'above', 'these', 'who' are masculin?
Anyways, it said I was a chick. Now excuse me, I need to go and shave my face.

I put the entire 20K+ of We Meet Again in the hopper. results? I'm still looking to make sure I have all my essential parts. Says I'm female

Words: 20812
(NOTE: The genie works best on texts of more than 500 words.)

Female Score: 30998
Male Score: 24491

Well, it seems I'm a woman, at least when I am writing erotica. Damn this penis which prevents me from fulfilling my potential. Well, it is actually only like 55-45 so it isn't decidedly female.

Although, when I submitted a few of my blog entries, they were decidedly male (except my entry on steak houses in California sucking balls, which oddly enough was "female").

What I find interesting is what it bases the calculations on. It seems that prepositions are decidedly male (except for "with"), whereas conjunctions and pronouns are decidedly female.

It is also interesting that the men get the "what" and "who" questions and women get the "where" question, even though men get all the wheres and women get the whos.

first two texts i tried (how not to dirty talk in german, the blue bed) came out as male, the others as female though...

I was all set to try this... but the link's not working for me. Get a cannot display page message. :(
