What's your ideal type of wedding ceremony?
Where?
What type of wedding dress?
What else?

Anyone?

I had a big, formal wedding...long train on the dress, the works. If I had to do it over, I'd go to Vegas and spare the expense.

That was me in the back, banging on the window, screaming "Elaine!"

Oops, sorry, wrong movie.

Anything. So long as I'm not involved. :D

PTL that I did the Vegas thing. And my dress was a Filene's Basement leftover. ($40.00)

Yet I still want my damn money back.

Really? I guess every girl kinda wants the traditional thing to begin with. But if I had my choice, I would do it in the Bahamas.

marriage is for losers. just shack up, never tell the government and save a ton of dough on taxes, especially if children are involved...

I am not sure how to answer this question. Part of me thinks I'd want all the bells and whistles just because I'd be so excited about it and want to make as loud of a noise as possible. It is hard to picture it when there is no one ... maybe something intimate and simple? ... on a local beach or in a temperate meadow with just our immediate family and closest friends.

What to wear? If it is a big production then something simple and elegant with a timeless cut. It would probably be "fit and flare" to accent my bust and waist and graze my hips ... strapless. If it were a small ceremony then maybe something light and airy in gauze. I can't stand having a bunch of crap in my eyes so no veil. I'd need either a tiara for the big deal or a wreath of simple flowers for the small deal.

Calla lilies either way for my bouquet. I love those.

While it is interesting to think about, it is impossible to answer this question when I have no idea what my hypothetical groom wants. Since a marriage is a partnership, allot of what would be going on would depend on what he wants. Having a ceremony that fits us both would be the true ideal.

As a sidenote, I hate diamonds. I seriously would not want any on any of the rings.

BnB, I did the same thing. Evening wedding, white gown w/ a long train, formal reception, hundreds of guests; the whole shabang. I never even got to eat any of the food at my reception, except for the exchange of wedding cake. Thank goodness we had an informal party at my parent's by the pool after the formal reception for close friends and family, with a keg and open bar, or we never would have had a chance to hang with them...

Next time, tiny wedding, with just a few people on the beach. Simple dress, flowers in my hair and barefoot. Party time, afterwards.

*edit* MoonDragon, I had calla lilies for my bouquet. A bit of advice... Keep it simple with only a couple of lilies. Mine was so heavy... Just a thought. *smile*

I like the weight of them. They should be long-stemmed and cradled in the arm, (to represent any children that might come,) ... a contrast of soft pink, pale yellow, and shades of green against white cloth.

I'll remember that though. If I ever marry, I'll test the weight before deciding on how many. :)
