Believe it or not, but the sexiest setting I've ever read about was a BROOM CLOSET! It was a story about two teenagers in school, who were hiding ina broom closet, and the janitor was walking by just outside, and they stood very close, and they could feel each other's bodies, and... you get the picture. It wasn't romantic, or luxurious, but it was sexy and forbidden and naughty and lustful and lively and personal and realistic...

The sexiest setting I can think of, however, would be a hammock, in the summer night, in the rose garden...

I prefer a comfy bed; have never been into fast fucks in odd places, or discomfort. I haven't read anything special that interests me but did write up the following in a non-Lit. piece, based on real life.

Most unusual, *and* romantic: in the San Francisco opera house during a performance of the Kirov Ballet in 1992 (grand tier left; I kept the ticket stubs). We mutually stimulated each other under the coats on our laps. He was Russian too. We were crazy in love. We both arrived on the music.

Don't know it this counts as a setting but, being fully clothed. That is, in a place where it wouldn't do to be found naked or patially dressed. In a cricket pavilion whilst a match is on and you're padded up, backstage 2 or 3 pages from your entrance in a costume drama, 15 minutes before the oven timer rings in order to serve dinner to your guests who are in pleasant conversation behind the serving hatch. And like that.

Okay I can tell you from my experience that unless you live in a warm climate (which) I do not rainy sex in the woods is exciting but not comfortable and if you're me (which I am you) you end up with the flu from being soaked to the bone. Also wet leaves are not at all sexy and if you're a little wild (which I am) the bark on a tree can leave a helluva brush burn. I did try rainy sex when I vacationed in mexico though. It was great to be outside on a lonely beach (as everyone left on account of rain) but after there was sand in places that sand should never be but hey I got exfoliated for free . yeah my skin looked great that six days and seven nights.

The sexiest scene I've read is from a novel by Katherine V. Forrest called Curious Wine .
The 2 characters were in the loft of a cabin in the woods. The picture window allowes them to see the nighttime sky and the snow and ice surrounding a nearby pond all of which is convieniently lit by moonlight.
