In your comment on the story, you mentioned that you liked the character of Doubles. Well, I have it on good authority that there might be another story specifically about him.

I really enjoyed creating Doubles and for a while I considered dragging his scene out a bit just to give the little rascal a few more lines, but then I realized that perhaps that was foolish because by keeping the slate relatively blank I could use him for a second tale. So there's a good chance I might write another stand-alone story, but with Doubles and the Tunnel Boss as the main characters. All things in due time, however. I have to read some of your tales to get a better grip on the world at large, and I have several other projects I'd like to finish before I begin something new. But if inspiration strikes, you never know!

Still plugging away, probably around 70% done at this point. Have a lot of tightening and polishing to do, and still have to figure out how to kill the main baddie. The smut element is probably my biggest hurdle as expressing emotions isn't my strong point.

Remember that you don't strictly speaking need a smut element. I've struggled with it in my City of Scum stories too: I don't write them to be erotic, I write them to be dark. So the sex is dark and gritty too, and the characters' mindset isn't going to be about intimacy or a happy release. It's twisted with anger and hatred and despair and jealousy.

I don't think I've had a single comment on these stories about them being hot and erotic, so I must be doing it right.

I have to go down the erotic route due to the nature of the monster, There's not a great deal going on physically, It's mostly mental once they get into it, being as mind control is a factor.
I'll probably write the death scene first and work backwards from there. Sometimes that's easier.
