Maybe it's just me, but I tend to call people by name. If I don't happen to know their name I will introduce myself and ask them for their name, and usually a business card if we're meeting regarding a business transaction. I don't refer to the Ceramic tile contractor I hire for repairs as "that White Russian Jewish guy", I normally call him Oleg.
