sunday, i somehow managed to lose my wallet. i don't understand how that happened, but it did. within the wallet was my social security card (stupid, i know, i won't be doing that again), my $309 NJ transit monthly train pass, my driver's license and my ATM card. there was maybe $20 or so in it as well but hey, it's a twenty, not particularly broken up about that.

after retracing my steps quite a bit (and killing my ATM card), i resigned myself to the fact that it was a loss. i bought daily tickets monday in the hopes that the wallet might turn up, but no dice. i bought a new monthly pass yesterday morning and was thisclose to going out and buying a new wallet last night.

so imagine my surprise last night when the phone rang at 11 pm. we have caller ID and the caller wasn't someone that we knew. then the phone rang again 2 minutes later. the mrs picked up the phone.

turns out someone else in the area found my wallet, found my personal cards and called to return it.

that, after watching a charlie brown christmas last night, has put me in the most remarkably good mood.

:>

Yes, there are still people like that out there, although they are few...
Must have been someone who was in the Christmas spirit already ;)

So now you have two $ 309 ( !!!) transit passes for this month? Can you get a refund? (My Dutch nature speaking here I guess...)

bi: i totally am, you're right. :>

m's girl: hey, $309 isn't a small amount! happily, yes, i can get a refund for part of the cost. :>

i'm a curmudgeonly driver by nature (it's part of being from new jersey). my wife is going to get no end of mileage out of this when i start complaining about the way other drivers are behaving on the roads...ah, well: small price to pay.

So I'm listening to some online radio station playing holiday instumental stuff, when on comes Silver Bells. I turned to look at my monitor (yeah, I was actually doing some work at the time, wasn't here) and saw Rudolph and the Burl Ives Snowman. Made me think I better have not missed the Rudolph special, or heads will roll! What's a Christmas season without Yukon Cornelius, the greatest prospector of the north? Hanging my 2 Yukon ornaments on the tree just isn't enough.

i love the Bumble....

the bumble rocks. :D

i've always had a soft spot for the wagon w/ square wheels.

shit, I was hoping charlie brown would finaly pick out a decent tree this year. Did he?

BTW, if you happen to see It's a Wonderful Life coming up soon, can you give me a heads up please? I've missed it the last couple of years....I think it was on like Thanksgiving eve last year.

Oh no! It's on right now! Hope you got to see it.
