Good god! @_@ That looks amazing.

Thank you, maker of text art.

Now if only Mr. Wonka could perfect his dinner gum, I could eat it while playing basketball. It'd also make movie refreshments a lot cheaper.

psst... I cheat with the text faces (^人^)I hope you can forgive me.

Dinner gum sounds unfulfilling. That would be like chewing your food for flavor and spitting it out. :( I would be sad and very, very thin.

Re mushrooms and freezing, I slice and freeze on a tray without blanching for many varieties, then slide them into a bag.

A lot of mushrooms can be freezed without blanching, but chanterelles and their family will turn bitter without, for example. So it's not always necessary, but safer, especially when you bought exotic mushrooms. The common champignon doesn't need blanching.

Hmrph. Now I'm really jealous. Not due to the cooking, but every picture I take looks like I dumped a kitchen accident on a plate, even if it looks fine in real life. :(

If you want to feel really bad, I post here and my stuff looks like trash in comparison.

I made kale soup tonight. :) It came out very good. All veggies ans beans seasoned with apple cider vinegar.

Eh, most of mine looks like that. But you should see my Lean Cuisine series: microwave food porn of the finest sort.

this is what i had for lunch.

cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, [red] onion and a little miracle whip on toasted bread; and a small side of hand-cut fries.

That bread looks just as tasty as the rest. I am digging the sunflower seed bread that I found at the German bakery. Chopped sunflower seeds in the bread, and whole seeds on the top. I made an egg salad sandwich with it yesterday that was just heavenly...!

MWY - That burger looks... enormously decadent :)

It certainly does look decadent. Now if I could only remember where I had it?

i agree, that burger looks amazing. i like the pickle peek. :)

i love whole wheat bread...the brand i use is called 'nature's own: specialty'. (i'm not sure why the name "specialty" is stamped on the bag since some of their other breads are topped with oats as well.) to me, it tastes better toasted. i had turkey sandwiches for dinner a few nights last week, nothing fancy; but the toasted bread made it all the better. :)

Crustless pie with blue cheese and prosciotto and sliced cucumber in a balsamic vinaigrette.

I made a southwest apple soup.

Black beans, diced pork tenderloin, corn, red onion, diced bell pepper, garlic, chipotle grilling spices, pepper, diced organic gala apple and a big dollop of salsa. Simmer for about an hour. Top in bowl with grated pepperjack cheese. I broiled a wheat tortilla until crispy and then broke pieces over the whole thing.

It was a warming meal for an icy day.
