Rice
Miso soup with carrot, onion, and celery
Tamagoyaki (savory rolled omelette, with green onion)
Natto (fermented soy beans, served over the rice)

It's a small, simple meal night. :) Sometimes you just need a simple meal that is easy on the tummy.

I had some leftover what I think of as marinara sauce but I think it's probably technically more of a ragu. But to me ragu is a brand of spaghetti sauce that I hated as a child for good reason.

My sauce whatever it was... consisted of canned crushed tomatoes, sauteed red pepper and onion, ground chuck, lots of basil a little bit of oregano and whatever comes in pizza seasoning.. which seems to lean too heavillly on the oregano.

Anyway I had about a servings worth of that left from a couple of nights ago and I didn't feel like cooking spaghetti so I cooked some top ramen and put it over the top ramen.

If I had any mozzarella handy I would'of sprinkled it on top and then broiled it for a bit to give it's sort of a fake bake spaghetti taste.

Leftover beef stew from Sunday lunch for dinner tonight, but I have plans for a broccoli-pesto pasta on Friday night (my dinners for tomorrow night and Thursday night are going to be at other people's houses, hehe).

Aside... How on earth is that moniker of yours not already taken???

I've actually used varients of that elsewhere and I had no idea it was available here!

Made shredded beef tacos last night; bottom sirloin roast braised in a mixture of onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, minced serrano peppers, and a touch of beef bouillon paste.

Tomorrow night will be chicken and sun-dried tomato risotto. Or a white chicken chili, not sure yet.

How long did you cook the roast? Did you shred the roast after cooking or part way through and put the shredded meat back in the pot with the juices for a while?

A delicious lasagna! ^_−☆ first time baking one and hope it comes out well.

Butternut squash puree soup (with a bit of potato and cauliflower), seasoned with a sprinkle of tarragon & Parmesan cheese; Smoking loon Pinot Noir.

Well?? How did you do?

Wow, that sounds SO good.

I have been guesting in "The Bunkhouse" as I have taken to calling it. Junkfood a-plenty abounds. I never buy the stuff so, I never miss it...Now that it is always available I am surviving on Oreo's and Doritos with predictable results.

There were hotdogs around so I made chili-dogs tonight....a far cry from the above.

And what might the brilliant, beautiful, and ridiculously talented Bunny be having for dinner tonight?

If you guessed "fried egg sandwich because she's too lazy to cook (again)," then you win a prize!

:p

Mister cooked tonight, but I made creamy hot cocoa from scratch. :D

Frying eggs qualifies as cooking in my book.
Fried eggs on dark rye bread is a favourite of mine and if you make it with juniperflavoured, cold-smoked tyrolean ham it's classic "I remember this from grandmothers kitchen" territory.

Mussels all'Arrabbiata and garlic bruschetta to go with it.

And I totally second IA's motion that frying eggs is cooking and absolutely delicious, when served on dark bread. I add bacon, arugula, tomato and some mayo for artery clogging goodness. :)

Homemade, pan fried wontons. Kongnamul Gook, which is a Korean soup made with bean sprouts and spiced with red pepper powder. White rice (a staple in this house) and beer. Perfect dinner for Christmas Eve :D

Toshikoshi soba ( ^ω^ )

Buckwheat noodles with a hot dashi broth topped with kamaboko and green onion with an egg cracked over top. This is a dish for New Year's Eve. Toshikoshi is like saying "from one year to the next" and soba is buckwheat noodles. This dish is eaten in many different ways and the noodle represents a long life.

Happy new year!

I've got an Outback copycat bread cooling on the counter and in the fridge chicken and steak are marinating for dinner tonight. I'll probably do potato wedges with a pseudo-salad for hubby and kiddo with cooked veggies for me (cause I'm fussy that way).

Haven't felt up to cooking for a while, so getting prep done ahead of time makes things easier.
