Burek filled with feta and spinach, iceberg lettuce with lemon dressing and beer.

Yay, you're back!

Yeah, I banned myself from posting on Lit in the hopes of getting my Master's thesis at least half way done - erm, didn't quite happen and I ended up spamming people with PMs (sorry, guys!), so I suppose I might just as well come out of the lurk mode. :)

Good to be back!

Roasted summer veggies smothered in garlic, ground turkey, and simple marinara with a side of cucumber, tomato and feta drizzled on red wine vinegar and olive oil.

Fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries with a dollop of honey sweetened creme fresh.

Tastes like summer! :)

Danish Smørrebrød with liver paté, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and lingonberry jam, Svaneke Pilsner from the Bornholm Brewery and a Aalborg Jubileum akvavit.
No wonder the danish are the happiest people.

Goat's cheese salad with cherries and cherry-balsamic syrup.

Applewood smoked turkey sausage slices and green beans cooked in a pan of caramelized onions and apples with oven roasted spiced and salty sweet potato fries on the side.

It smells so good I almost don't wanna eat it. Almost.

Sheep polypore "steaks" with beurre blanc, broccoli and zucchini.

(Sheep polypore is a yummy mushroom with a very plasticky sounding name.)

Nuts berries slices of cheese and various bagged leaves. Very surprisingly good pumpkin muffins made with almond nut flour, also.

Wow... This thread is both making me salivate and making me feel like a lazy oaf! Yesterday was a family reunion, so I had:

Dinosaur BBQ pulled pork & chicken, salt potatoes (it's a central NY thing), baked beans, cornbread, cucumber & tomato salad, salad with grapes, walnuts & bleu cheese crumbles, baguettes with spicy tomato oil, copious amounts of red wine, Coke, cake, chocolate pizza, pineapple, strawberries and kiwi with homemade fruit dip, and chocolate covered potato chips.

It was a gooood day. :D

Today nothing's cooking, because it's Restaurant Day!

I'm glad to see it's picking up internationally, because Restaurant Day is awesome-sauce. It's in at least 20 countries today, so check it out if you're not in the mood for cooking.

Today I went American and had ribs and corn on the cob, and key lime and pecan pie for desert, all yummy and cooked by a really nice girl from Alabama and her French boyfriend.

Potato and lentil Dahl soup.

Started off in my new soup maker (looks like a blender but cooks as well), ingredients stuck hopelessly to the bottom and burnt-so now doing it the old fashioned way in a big pot on the stove. Damn you soup maker.

Raw gingerbread cookie dough. It's been one of those mornings.

*sigh*

I'm going to give myself a tummy ache at this rate...

Spinach crepes (as in blend spinach, add to batter) with goat's cheese filling.
