What's cookin', good lookin'?

Yesterday it was raindeer liver with mashed potatoes, caramelized carrots and tart lingonberry sauce and a bottle of lovely Leffe Brune.

Today it'll be pan seared Arctic char with cauliflower puree, some kind of a salad and bread made of yesterday's leftover mashed potatoes.

And I'm really craving blinis with roe, so I hope that'll be on the menu tomorrow or at least next week.
 
Wow! You all sound so impressive! My husband is one of the pickiest eats around, so I always have a hard time. I am to the point now where I really want to expand my culinary horizons so he will be coming along for the ride willingly or not. ;) And if he doesn't like a certain dish, I won't be one bit offended, and he can have a sandwich or something instead. :p
 
Smoked pulled pork on potato rolls with jicama/apple slaw. Beer infused bbq sauce. fennel, cucumber slaw/salad n onion salad and the friends brought scalp taters. It was by far the best pulled pork Sammie I've ever had bc I perfected the slaw.
 
I made a bucketful of vegetable soup. Potatoes, leek, garlic and a bit of carrot, more for color than for taste. I made my own veggie stock. I used cream. It's gotten even better in the fridge.

Ate it with rye bread croutons, chives and a splash of olive oil. Damn it's good, but damn I'm tired of eating it after three days. I want blinis, I want blinis!

So, note to future self: do not make a bucketful of soup, no matter how good it is, because it'll postpone blinis and there's really no good reason to postpone blinis. Ever. Really.
 
Leftoverish taco night! Toasted to crisp corn tortillas, seasoned ground beef, oven roasted broccoli with crushed garlic cloves, red beans panfried with a crumbled slice of bacon, white rice, feta, and green enchilada sauce.

It may sound random as leftoverish creations often are... and I honestly wasn't so sure about the bacon... but, in case you are wondering, YES, it was the right idea. So right.
 
Toaster waffles, nectarine slices, carrot sticks, and gala apples slices with an obscene blob of Nutella on the side. :D
 
Prepping for a final on the morrow, so today's menu is:

Appetizer:
Shallow poached salmon, sautéed spinach, tomato concassé and sauce beurre blanc

Salad:
Boston Bibb lettuce tossed with a julienne of red bell pepper, bruniose of granny smith apple and lemon vinaigrette
*
Entrée:
Sautéed airline chicken breast with mashed potatoes, vegetable jardinière and sauce chasseur

I've got the salmon done and noted the changes I need to make for the final (way too much beurre blanc sauce) and found that my anti-fish hubby actually LIKES poached salmon.

Monday: Veggie soup.
Tuesday: Pasta with red onion, garlic, cherry tomatoes and chives.
Wednesday&Thursday: Burbot soup.
Friday: Chicken salad and home-made lingonberry-vanilla ice cream.
Today: Risotto and oven roasted Arctic char. Lingonberry-vanilla ice cream from yesterday for dessert.
Tomorrow: Some sort of egg noodle thing with the leftover Arctic char.

I got a new knife just for filleting fish, so we've been having a lot of fish these past few weeks. But it's so good! The knife. :)

Santa Maria style tri tip, herbed jasmine rice, salad (of baby greens, feta, almonds & cranberries), and fruit salad (of kiwi, strawberries, & blueberries).

Dessert....a couple of the dark chocolate covered salted caramels that somehow survived the day in my kitchen. :)
 
Last night I made blueberry syrup and pancakes from scratch so I'm still enjoying those today.... also allthough theyre not ready I keep knicking into the jar of pickled onion I made last night

Bermuda onion, salt, sprig if dill, balsamic, pomegranite.
 
Western omelette: ham, cheese, red onions and diced green peppers, with plenty of grilling spices for kick.
 
Roast beef, mashed carrots & parsnip with chives and lemon, Bearnaise sauce and crispy carrot peels.

Lovely, gooey brie with sea-buckthorn jam and figs and pears roasted with honey.

Good company and wine are on their way here.
 
Per the request of a Birthday having friend... I am making a fresh berry laden fruit Pizza today. Once she tried it long ago, she is SO over Birthday cake! :)
 
Herb-laden baked zander with sunroot pure and a few homemade beetroot chips to crisp things up a bit.
 
Baked BBQ chicken, roasted broccoli & garlic cloves in olive oil, and herbed brown rice. Dessert ~ the decimated remains of my dark chocolate bunny friend.
 
Sirloin, asparragus and Bearnaise.

Yoghurt cake with baked pear, chopped nuts and maple syrup on top for dessert.
 
Mushroom, wild chive & broccoli - with asiago/provolone/swiss - and bacon quiche.

Mmmmm...

Thai steak salad: grilled flank steak, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, fresh mint, basil, red cabbage, sprouts, carrots... Did I say flank steak? :)

Sounds yummy!

Having Santa Maria style grilled tri-tip, oven roasted golden potatoes, broiled asparagus with whole garlic cloves, and a red onion, feta, tomato, and carrots green salad tossed with a simple balsamic vinaigrette.

Dessert plans still pending...
 
It's too hot to cook. I think I'll just walk back to the ice cream store 9got back about 10 minutes ago) and have another pound of ice cream.
 
Going ALL out tonight after a LOOONG week...

Reheated Wednesday Chicken, a side of Thursday rice, and just roasted Friday broccoli & garlic all served up on a paper plate. Mmmmm.
