What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

Spinach Roll ups I mad were so good I made them again. Contemplating what I'm having for lunches at work this week.

And I want to make peach ice cream next for the 4th!

I was thinking about cooking something from New Zealand as my next country, for the letter U.

Turns out in many, many food blogs and other recipe sites the New Zealand part in any recipe is the wine pairing rather than the food itself.

Does this mean I get to drink a bottle of wine and call it a country cooked? Would eating a kiwi fruit count?

Or maybe I have to turn to Ukraine, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Uruguay or Uganda for my U country.

Salad with green leafy things, red, yellow, and candy cane beets, cherries and feta, topped with cherry balsamic reduction.

Blueberries and peaches with a dollop of whipped cream and white chocolate shavings for dessert.

Not sure which is more yummy, the salad or the dessert!

We ordered out for my BD dinner.

I had a gyro and a slice of ladoregano potatoes with 2 gummy fruit slices for dessert.

I'm considering a scoop of black cherry frozen yoghurt later.

Yes! Happy birthday!

Summer squash and onions sauteed in pan drippings from a pork steak.

Sweet corn, straight from the stalk to my mouth. An annual treat.

I want to experience this as well. One day.

I made rhubarb crumble today and it was really good. Lunch was smoked Baltic herring with tiny baby potatoes and lemony butter dressing. Salad was cauliflower crumbs, peas, cucumber, radishes and sunflower seeds.

I did make peach ice cream for the 4th!

Next up considering guac or hummus roll ups.

I'm still full from lunch so the planned brats and cheddar on a bun with chips will be delayed a day. Instead, it will be brie and wine later.

Not really patriotic of me, I know.

If W were still President, would that be Freedom Cheese with your wine?
Happy Fourth, my friend.

Happy 4th to you. I'm over it already. Can't really celebrate this year due to Covid and I'm tired of the furbabies living under the bed. I'd really like to see them once in awhile just to make sure it's not the mutant sized Florida roaches carrying the food off and it's truly being eaten.
The locals really don't understand when they're told "no fireworks in the city due to fire danger" .

Leftovers from yesterday for lunch. Now a G&T or three. Lord have mercy.

I'll probably be back to find someone to talk to in an hour or so, when I'm half way through G&T #2. I apologize in advance.

I know, but it's like the beginning of an end to me if I start drunk posting. There will be no end to embarrassing posts.

I am devouring a cheddar brat smothered with sauteed bell peppers and onions. It's what J wanted today for his BD.
I'm too busy eating to post a pic but will do so in a bit:D
