What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

If you do beet cake, would you use the same spices?

I don't know. I think I'd be tempted to go down the chocolate-y road with beets. :)

And for honey I suggest the Fijian honey cake. Most recipes are really heavy on sugar on top of the honey, so you might wanna adjust that. There are many recipes online.

Thanks Seela!

And you're in for a big job, Meeks  Sweet or savoury? Let me know how many dozen you end up with :)

@_@ My hands hurt...

(*^_^*) savory tamales stuffed with pork. I don't know how many, but two large pots full.

I'm cooking artichokes for the first time myself. Should be interesting. :)

Edit:
Yep, it was fun and yummy!

My aunt used to make a stuffing that was to die for, don't know what she used, she won't tell.
Is that just melted butter?
Gah, I want some!

Can't have oysters - allergic to shellfish.

If you had any crabcakes, I'd be up for some of those! Alas, it is dreary here and I have some leftovers that need used up. Probably going to make some sort of noodle casserole and biscuits. Or something with dumplings. Still deciding.

Your post had me wondering why you could eat one shellfish but not another. So I googled and found the text quoted below. Now I have learned something, and so I may fritter the rest of the day :D

"There are two kinds of shellfish: crustacea (such as shrimp, crab and lobster) and mollusks (such as clams, mussels, oysters and scallops). Reactions to crustacean shellfish tend to be particularly severe. If you are allergic to one group of shellfish, you might be able to eat some varieties from the other group."

I had French toast, bacon and home fried potatoes for breakfast. And coffee with sugar and whipping cream  So I definitely feel like frittering for a while!

I burned the garlic bread last night, trying it again.

MeekMe, love your BunnyBuns!
