What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

What are the things on the right? ☺️

I found ten (😂) sad, tiny chanterelles yesterday morning, hardly enough to make anything with. So I bought some more in the grocery to have enough, even if I generally don’t like to buy mushrooms.

Zander, onion, garlic and green beans en papillote, sauteed chanterelles with parsley, pickled herring, turnips. So, summer food.

I only managed to take a pic of the turnips, I was too hungry. 😁
YUMMY!
I saw that Tallcajun beat me to the answer...
They're typically deep fried, but due to my disdain for the quality of the cooking oil we get on the boat, I bake my Tator Tots at 400F.

A ribeye steak that my mom bought for me, a pesto pasta side, green beans, salad, and, the pièce de résistance, deviled eggs.

Yes, I know deviled eggs do not really go with steak, but I wanted some, dammit.

I found a pretty decent amount of chanterelles yesterday, so lunch today was pan fried chanterelles and onion on rye. Dinner was pan fried chanterelles with perch fillets.

Lunch was broccoli salad (broccoli florets marinated over night with rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, cumin seeds, chili flakes and then sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds before serving) and noodles with fried egg, broccoli stalk and snap peas.

Very green, simple and tasty. And best of all, requires very little actual cooking with heat and no boiling. It’s been so warm and humid here lately that I can only cook things that don’t make the apartment feel like a jungle.

Dinner will be steak with some more broccoli salad and probably some tomatoes and other veggies I have to use up before leaving home for a few days.

A fried chicken salad, i.e., the world's most unhealthy "salad."

Baby greens, tomato, cucumber, boiled egg, bits of fried chicken strips, dressing, and croutons. I didn't have any shredded cheese, and I was too lazy to grate any.

I’m sad because my trip got canceled, but naturally food makes me feel better… Sigh.

Breakfast. Potato flatbread with butter and cucumber slices, Greek yogurt with vanilla paste, frozen bilberries and granola, strawberries and coffee.
