). Yes, love them together. Is that weird? I second the. Yes, we need tomato pictures please!
In Spain I was served fried eggs in tomato and onion/garlic sauce for merirndas, a middle of the afternoon snack. I love tomatoes and eggs together! Also, I put both chopped tomato and hard boiled egg in my macaroni salad, among other things (it's a super secret salad of some sort). Yes, love them together. Is that weird?

Today I am making meatloaf. Not exotic in the least, buy my daughter broke her ankle yesterday, is in a cast and requested meatloaf and mashed potatoes with broccoli. Comfort food for sure.
Best reason ever for comfort food. I hope she recovers quickly.
Oddity of the week: I ate in a diner recently that does not even have meatloaf on the menu. I was stunned.

No, I love chopped hardboiled egg and chopped tomato on rye with chives!
And huevos rancheros!

Oh yeah! Juevos rancheros! Nom nom nom!
For me today it's homemade chicken soup with squash, fresh corn off the cob, onions, chicken and cayenne. I'm also sipping fresh ginger lemon honey tea. Sore throat, get thee hence!![]()
I so want to love the idea of juevos rancheros, stupid red and yellow.I mean, I am sure if I were served it, I'd like it....I just cannot get past it to cook it for myself.
But I love pepperonata, with red and yellow peppers

Oops! I had no idea "instant" was truly short for instantaneous in this instance We are generally tapped out of energy here, so tonight is pizza. I'm always a trifle superstitious about operations and try to go for a "last meal" item. I admit it, pizza is very high on my list. Plus I wanted something filling since I'm not supposed to eat after midnight, and surgery isn't scheduled until 3:30 tomorrow afternoon.
Irrelevant side note: three times in this misadventure I've been warned not to get my splint and dressing wet. Every single time I've been on the verge of saying "and don't feed it after midnight" but was afraid of getting the wrong reaction (like confusion on their part or a 72-hour hold for me). Hopefully someone(s) here will appreciate my reference.

Dear Lord! Are they insane? They expect you not to eat for nearly 24 hours?
And, LOL! I get the reference.

In other news, I'm trying to get up the nerve to try and cook Cornish hens....
Cornish hens are easy!
I mean, you did a duck after all!![]()
I am a less confident fish cook too! I have some things I am super confining and other things I just hover with and hope.
Also.....if G is not at home I am not afraid to ask my fishmonger to bone things I feel unconfident with.
), but items like cod, turbot, trout.... Honestly, I don't even know where to start. It just seems so...delicate, and easy to mess up. Plus, I'm never quite sure how the fish are different. Salmon and mackerel, I get of course (Sushi!), but items like cod, turbot, trout....
*sigh*
It's just one of those never-seen-it-done things. I need to just jump, i suspect.
