What's cookin', good lookin'? Part II

Make that cloudberry jam, lingonberry jam, Sauerkirsch marmelade and Nutella and cream.
Daughter wanted to go get drottningsylt too but I begged her to have mercy.
That sounds even better! Drottningsylt is an excellent choice for plättar, though. We have kungsylt too, I don’t know if it’s a thing there or not. It’s drottning with strawberries.

Speaking of jams, I made gooseberry-carrot jam. It’s oddly cloudberry like.

It is.
But we rarely have cloudberry jam and the Sauerkirsch only when someone brings it home from Germany.

No, I have encountered jam like that but never heard it called that. Could be a north/south thing though.

I can imagine how they would kind of blend like that, now that you mention it.
Never would have thought of it myself though.

There is a lady close to me that makes and sells jams and she makes one with carrots and cardamom.... it is delicious

I’ve made carrot and ginger jam, but cardamom sounds great! Might have to try that some time. Thanks for the idea. :)

Tofu and Romanesco. Looks and sounds boring, tasted really good.

Now there’s veggie lasagna in the oven to tide us over the busy start of the week.

A few days ago, I made a stew in the slow cooker. It has sweet potato, quinoa, and black beans. It was delicious, and the parrots loved it, too.

We eat a lot of cornbread and beans in this house.
Last night we had roasted tofu, onions, and peppers over wild rice.

Well pork loin that I seasoned with herbs cooked and eaten last night. Served with buttered roasted carrots... left overs packaged and in the freezer for the future.. we will see what today brings

It's been a while ... I've been mastering the French omelette, after watching Julia. It took about 20 or 30 goes, but I think I have it (nearly) perfected. (There is no photo ... if I was cleverer person I'd download a photo of a perfect French omelette and post that ... but I'm not that clever.)
