Lying awake all night, covered in hives, and itching so bad you begin to think peeling off your sckin would be an excellent idea.

And I thought I was bitchy yesterday...

LIving somewhere with free medical care?
Itching should be provided free of charge by the State!
It's a fundamental human right!
:)

Did you try the vet? When I break bones, the horse vet will shoot a picture for $50.00 and then let me know if I need to go to a doctor or if we can just set it as it is...

I've been on 4 kinds in the last 6 weeks, and they all make me ill.

Having the alien inside me growing again is much better.

I think you should. I've had troubles with pennicillin & sulfa families of anti-biotics that required steroid shots.

If you're allergic, respiratory arrest is a possibillity from pennicillins. I hate to tell you, but it gets worse as your blood levels build, not better.

Don't wait until afternoon, leave your doctor a message now.

ditto, except I'm not allergice to penicillin. A family member is. Hives would be a classic sign.

Whatever they gave you, it sounds like they need to give you something else instead. Don't take any more of it until you call your doc!

The scary thing is, I broke out within three hours of taking my first dose of the meds yesterday, and the hives are currently getting worse, not better. I feel like hell.

I've only ever taken two antibiotics that I wasn't allergic to, Flagyl (one of the ones I'm on now) and arythtromyacin (sp?). Thsi sucks so bad. Thankfully, the doctor will be in his office at 9. Too bad I can't get a refund on the drugs.

That's what sucks royally is when you can't get your money back. I mean they are expensive as hell and you're out $200. Flagyl is not cheap, and erythromycin is not a whole lot better.

Take some benadryl for the hives and itching. Call the doc. You already knew that.

Come to England

We have free health-care.

Have you tried alternative therapies?

Do you know what triggers you?

If alergic reactions are common when you take medication your doctor should supervise you for at least the first few hours of treatment, Otherwise they are negligent.

If you peel off all of your skin it might feel better.

I've had them in my nose and throat before...as well between fingers and toes...blech! Miserable nasty crap.

Like that guy in Nightbreed? Excellent suggestion, my friend. Shall I post pics afterward?

Hmmm...no, I was thinking more of like that guy in Hellraiser...now that was one skinless dude! You can only post pics if you do them in full color!

Feel better hon, I sympathize with ya!

You know that in Denmark the government pays for all medical coverage! They also give 24 weeks for maternaty leave and some of which is payed for. But the downside is that they have huge taxes!

Nope. The nurse said "discontinue use of the one causing the reaction. Continue taking the other one as prescribed unless you develop more side-effects." Duh. I pretty much had that one figured out.

Anyone wanna buy a prescription of Floxin 400mg for the low low price of $170.00?

Good thing I didn't need anything else though, I already used up the remaining $200 I was going to pay the vet. Thankfully, he's very understanding.
