Were you ever at the circus as a child, and into the center ring would drive this Volkswagen, and the doors would open, and these clowns would come out, and then more, which was funny because you couldn't fit that many clowns into a Volkswagen. But then, they kept coming out, and you thought "this is ridiculous... they made the point, the joke is over..." But they kept coming out anyway. And after a while, you began to laugh, not at the gag, but how extremely overdone it was. And the more clowns came out of the Volkswagen, the funnier it got.

Pretty much. Their problem was that they couldn't hack it in here or in normal society. The people on Dryer Lint fled this fucked up place only to find that they were the cause of the fucking up part. Their problems followed them.
