I love to cook and often find it a great way to relieve stress. It's like art that you eat. :)

I'm curious... since we are all quarantined and dining out is very limited, what is your favorite meal you cook at home? Drop your recipes! :)

We get these meals delivered called Hello Fresh. It comes with all the ingredients and directions (with pictures) to make a meal. It’s pretty fun and they’re basically impossible to mess up. This week we have Mushroom Penne with Truffle Cream Sauce and Crunchy Curried Chickpea Bowls.

We’re also baking chocolate chip cookies more often, and just use the recipe on the chips.

I've been baking a lot. Muffins, bread, biscuits...

I cook dinner more since I'm on working part-time. I'm making pork and sauerkraut tonight.

I had a cheap round roast that I turned into barbacoa the other day. Seasoned and seared beef put into a slow cooker for 8 hours on high with all the needed spices. Then some homemade tortillas that I make with a mixture of masa harina and 1/2 recipe of flour tortilla ingredients. Press the tortillas and then just the quickest fry in oil before a toss onto the comal to finish cooking. Home-made pico de gallo, basic guac and grilled onions so that everyone has something to add. I made enough for 30 tacos bro.

Do you cook the pork and sauerkraut together? If so, have you ever added some pickle juice to the mix? I do that sometimes, and it adds a great flavor bro.

Beef stew. Found a nice roast beast, cut it up into chunks and used one of them for a stew. Killed off the older potatoes, the last carrot, the last mushrooms and some celery.

Waste not, want not.

And it smells freakin' awesome.

That sounds really good. It's been on the cool side here, so maybe I'll try that tomorrow. Either that or chicken soup bro.

I fucking love stew.

I live in Chicagoland. We have dozens of restaurants offering Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Thai, Indian, Mexican & traditional American as well as breakfast for takeout or delivery.

Ordering out is my way of enjoying a delicious meal and supporting a local family business.

It's a good stew - nice and hearty. But it's done a bit early - I was expecting another hour. It's too early for dinner.

when quarantine started I turned to stress baking and eating, I can talk about it now because I finally stopped. :D

I made bread, mini cheesecakes, cookies, fruitcake, hand pies, fudge, pralines, and caramel.

I made francheesies: hotdogs slit lengthwise, stuffed with Velveeta cheese, wrapped with bacon and grilled. :)

Flank steak on the grill. Marinated in red wine, olive oil, with scallions and a pinch of garlic. Salad.

Today, my favorite meal was hickory/fig smoked ribs with sides of corn and baked beans. I use a dry rub of my own creation in a wet smoker. Smoker temp of 235-250 F. took about 5 hrs. today.

Local shrimp sautéed in shallot, garlic, lemon and wine with snow peas.
