Reheated Bacon Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper and a Mountain Dew.

Eeeeeewwww! :p

I'm on the 9pm munchies here. A packet of "Boogie Down Beef" flavoured crisps / potato chips and a slice of Charles and Camilla's wedding cake. ;)

I kid you not! The woman who made the cake for the royal wedding doesn't live that far from me. She's in her 70s and apparently Charles sampled some of her cake on a visit to the local Women's Institute stand, and immediately commissioned her to make the cake for his wedding.

Since then she's been baking solid. Her daughter sells the cakes at local food markets, and they're bloody marvellous! :catroar:

For dinner I had salmon poached in white wine, with sunblushed tomato pasta and an Italian salad. Dessert was fudge ice cream with strawberries. :)

I swear to God, Sea Cat and I must be the only two poor guys out here....everyone else is having poached fish, tomato-something-or-other, and then something Italian...

I mean, rock on, I'm actually kind of envious and stuff.....but holy crap! I'm lucky if I can afford hamburger.....

Wales is a little much of a commute from Iowa....but I thank you for the offer!

PS...you ever see a 6'4" American show up on your door saying he's on vacation, you'd best deliver on that dinner! ;)

Cornedbeef hash is my daughters favourite Darkness, it's good, comfort food thats for sure!

Dr M -Cheers love! I think I've been enlightened, corn means, like darkness says, alll kinds of grain, but thanks to the polenta analogy I getcha! :) Thanks!

Just munched on a drifter and a pack of cheesy puffs -cheap but cheerful film watching snack food! :)

I see. For a second I envisioned a very happy stranger in your bedroom....

True enough.

I'm trying to figure out what to do for supper....I owe a buddy a meal and he wants to cash in tonight.

There's a restaurant chain over here called A&W...famous for their rootbeer. They're harder than hell to find, most of them went under or were bought up and made into something else. Awesome rootbeer floats, good burgers, and the ever-so-unhealthy chilli cheese fries.

Damnit, i just ate and I'm hungry again.

I'm sated for now :) and eating too close to bedtime will give me wweird and unusual dreams, if not nightmares *L*

I love being a guy. I could probably eat in my sleep and not have weird dreams because of it. Of course, due to my abnormal psychology, I generally tend to not have nightmares....no matter how bad/bloody/sadistic the dreams get, I never truely have the terror associated with them.

That being said, there have been 5 exceptions in the last decade, but hell, no one's a perfect psycho....

*L* I just have to think about food before bed and I'll have weird, freaky dreams all night *L* And just about everything scares me -I'm a wimp :)

Hmmmm, Tonight was grilled Chicken with Grilled Corn and Scratch Bisquites. My wife was dessert. I ate well. :D

Hominy is an American Indian invention. It's dried corn that's usually soaked in lime water to make it swell and get mushy. They're big white kernals with the texture of cooked beans and a very bland, slightly corn-y taste. In Mexico it's known as posole, hence the name of the soup.

When I say corn, I mean Indian corn or maize. I think "corn" means something else in the UK, doesn't it?

If the hominy isn't soaked but just ground up instead, then you have hominy grits, or just grits. You boil these and get a very bland kind of starch that some people love but which I find pretty tasteless. The fancy Italian version is polenta.

Grits and eggs is a common breakfast combination in the South.

a man after my own heart. I love hominy, but sadly my boyfriend hates it. What's to hate? it's sweet, starchy corn. He likes grits though, and so do I (this is Tennessee after all!) they're not tasteless if you put in butter, salt and lots of pepper, and hot sauce. Wll Katrina make Tabasco scarce?

I love grits ... but can't stand hominy. Not really fond of polenta, either.

ETA: Just drinking tea this morning. Don't feel well.

It was my dad's birthday today and we had creamed chicken over biscuits and mashed potatoes.

That was damn fine.

Sliced turkey and swiss on whole wheat with honey dijon, with a glass of Diet Dr. Thunder (Wal-Mart brand Diet Dr. Pepper, for those who don't shop Wal-Mart or drink generic pop).

Personally, I like this particular pseudo-meal.

Q_C

p.s. I also tend to like Hamburger Helper (Although it's not Hamburger Helper when it's the "Great Value" version... ).

I just had half (well I managed 1/3) of a feast kebab (Bloody big naan bread with loads of different kebab meats and salad on it) and a Lamb and Mozzerella pizza (well 2 pieces of it) from Khans -the local balti house. Yum :)

Lest we forget the "Panburger Helper" from Hy-Vee (if those are found in your neck of the woods).

I got a shoreline shashimi plate for dinner with salmon and mackerel and tuna and crab and shrimp and eel and lots of wasabi even though it burns my nose and stuff but it's really good and I like japanese food and chinese too cause its really good and stuff
