What your name says about your age, location, politics and job

Other than politics, it wasn't bad. Age was right. My name wasn't on the job graphic and neither was my job (spy), so that tracks, and my surname wasn't on the geographic board--I've lived in 37 places in 4 countries, so I guess that's a good reason for the name not being located anywhere specific.

My age and job tracked. My parents' politics and origins track to my name. Yes, I *am* a boomer musician, and my folks *are* of midwest-USA mild-GOP heritage. Spooky. "Hypoxia Smurf" really pinpoints me. Maybe I should change it to Tokyo Sexwhale and run for president of FIFA.

Eh, I'd like to see whether any of these correlations are statistically significant. Every name MUST have certain professions that are more likely, but that doesn't mean they're meaningfully more likely. I don't read about a dentist named Steve and think, "That is total bullshit! My suspension of disbelief is shattered!"

I'd expect to see some significant correlations mediated through race, sex, and age. Some professions are heavily skewed in those demographics and that's going to show up in the sort of names you see there. But beyond that, yeah, I'd be surprised to see strong associations.
