So with that US lottery jackpot at like 370 million dollars.... it got me thinking.

If you won, what would be the first thing you do or buy?

I would probably quit my job - then pay debts in that order :)

Set my parents up for the rest of their lives

LOL ... party poopers

:p

Pay off my bills...buy a new vehicle, make repairs to the home, take a nice vacation, get plastic surgery and invest the rest........LOL :D

Why get plastic surgery? You don't need that SF.

I would do a combination of what everyone else said:

I would pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming and then set up my parents/family, pay off my bills, get a new car and a new home, take a nice trip, hire a personal trainer and chef, and then invest the rest. :D

I would pay off all my debts, buy a huge motor home and travel around the country home-schooling my two year old.

The first thing I would do is call up the ex, and laugh till I injured my spleen. :D

Then I'd set up a charitable foundation and spend the rest of my life using the money to help others.

That's very noble of you.. the charity part - not the ex one :D

First thing?

Quit my job. Then, I'd buy a new car, decorate my apartment, and buy back my horse. I'd pay off all my debts, as well as those of many of my family members. I'd donate to cancer research, and some other select charities, and then set the rest aside in the bank, to be used when I needed it.

I'd still go to school, and I'd still want to go to law school. After I was done school, and working, I would buy myself a nice place in the country, where I could keep a few horses.

Nothing elaborate.

I like the country. Cities are fine and good, but nothing like looking out and seeing fields and trees instead of concrete and cars.

Law interests me.

About my looks, that is for others to judge. I am comfortable with how I look, and that is enough for me.

Pay off the bills and buy a house in Italy. Then I would buy a house for my mother and parents-in-law and give them some money as well.

Set up split with the family, pay off bills, set up charity, take my wife on a great trip to europe, build a new recording studio.

help a bit my parents and my brother...but myself a house here in Italy and one in the Sates...new England may be.....visit a friend in Canada... ;)

I really like my job. But I'm sure I could think of a couple of things I'd be able to spend some of that on. I could donate half of it so as to not pay taxes on the rest.

can I be that friend? :p

I'd give a lot of the money to my mom and dad so they could retire. My dad lets work make him depressed. Then, I'd give my brother some money so he could go to school. I'd prolly save the rest or help out any friends that need it.

Don't get me wrong, before I did all this I'd go shoping and buy some new clothes with only a wee-bit of the money. Then I'd give the rest of the money to people close to me that need it.

I would hire a lawyer, an accountant, a home security company, and unlist my phone number. Probably in that order.

I would, at some point, want to get enough of it cashed into dollar bills that I could fill a bathtub or small pool and swim around in it like Scrooge McDuck. Maybe shallow, but a lot of fun, and seriously, who *wouldn't* want to do that for a bit? :D

cash

i go along with mostly everyone here...friends, family all set up...pay off debts, invest and then do something for charity. gotta give something back. but then the big job...building the dream house with the dream kitchen...then travel...
