Looking back on 2001, what are some of the things that happened in your life that affected you the most?

Marriage?

Children?

Job change?

Found Love or maybe lost it?

Let me know,
Cassidy

Overall it was a pretty mediocre year...

Probably the biggest Life Change for me is the relationship I have with my 19y/o son who ran up long distance Sex Calls for over $3,000 in a three week period.

I don't think our relationship with one another will ever be the same again... :(

Marriage?.....Got engaged

Children?....watched my son through many milestones

Found Love or maybe lost it?.......Engagement cancelled!

Love was the biggest thing in my life this year. But being in love and making plans for the future doesn't always mean it's going to happen. I learned a lot from the experience and I am ready to move on. I have become a stronger person for having had the experience.

Job loss, Pretty crappy economy even before 9/11.
But on the bright side, gotta whole lot of time on my hands to lurk on the Lit boards.:D

lets see... i decided i wanna change my major.. i have a boyfriend now.. i've had sex too... cant think of anything outside of that

Hmm, I'd have to say there were several things that affected me this past year. First of all, I'd have to say the various ups and downs of a long distance relationship. The times when I just didn't know if I had the strength to go on with it, then pulling something more from deep within me to make it work because I knew it was right.

Secon, would have to be my seperation from my husband. That has actually made me a stronger person as well. I am now living on my own for the first time in ages. Truth be told, before this, I'd only lived on my own for about 9 months.

Third would be watching my children grow into good people and seeing how bright they are. I love the fact that my 5 year old daughter can spell a last name that most adults have to ask for help with. 9 letters to memorize isn't always the easiest.

And lastly, I would have to say acceptance of myself. Also, tying in with the first item, is acceptance by Draco, of both my physical flaws and shortcomings and my various emotional upheavals at the oddest times.

Those all have had a profound affect on me. I like to thik they made me a better person, if for no other reason than I like to improve myself. :)

Wow! Sounds like a very personal year for you. I see only good things for you next year. I think you have found out that you are a lot stronger than you thought. And with Draco with you, it seems to double that:)

I got hired back to my old job in June, and am being laid off Dec 14th. Other than that, 2001 is pretty routine. :D

this year has had its moments...

I had a miscarrieage...

Then a few months latter I found out I was pregnant again..we are still wondering if its from the same pregnacy ... But are happy none the less...

Now we are looking forward to start out a new year with a new love for both Ns and I ... I think this is the greatest gift I could have ever got..

Marriage? Marraige ended. Divorce final two weeks ago :D

Children? No change. Phew!

Job change? Resigned one job and now in another that makes me very happy and doesn't pay very well.

Found Love or maybe lost it? Ahhhhh Yessssss...Finder's Keeper's !

Let me know,

I am not sure how to rate the biggest change. After 15 years of mediocrity and middle class, this year has been a roller coaster. I have to say, I am happier than I have ever been though!

Oh and I moved twice as well. :)

*sigh. *I had to accept that my soulmate has cognitive disorder
http://hdlighthouse.org/see/pg2/4.htm due to a triple heart bypass that saved his life. Can one explain in a short sentence the frustration of reminding him what I said five mins ago let alone yesterday? No. Do you remember whether you took your medication? No. The kids wanted to tell you something. But you can only concnetrate on one thing at a time. What is the date today? What did I just say? His temper outbursts due to frustration? Mood swings? We, had no warning nor explaination of his symptoms.
The info we have learned has been from the internet and 'saved' our marriage.

Without the net, we would have drifted apart. Thinking that we did not truly love each other but that we were not meant to be together. Instead I understand that this 'problem' is not his fault. The man who I fell in love with is still here, I just have to wade through the difficulties to be with him.
The biggest change for me has been learning acceptance when you cannot change the circumstances.
I cannot control everything but I love what I do have in my life. :)

2001

This hasn't been a good one for me at all until recently.

Marriage: Well, still happily single, but I fell IN love with the most wonderful man a few months ago. This is the highlight of my year, and gives me hope that 2002 will be much, much better.

No children (thank goodness!). I still have a lot of growing up to do myself!:D

Job change: was "released" this time last year from my job of 30 years, and I'm STILL unemployed.

Best wishes for a more stable, and much happier, year for all of us in 2002!:)

Marriage? Still there.

Children? On their own

Job Change? Company was sold, I was terminated on Friday and rehired on Monday, with appologies.

Found love? Yes, but the miles between us are making it tough! One week together, the rest only phone calls and e-mails.

Overall an interesting year!

this year...

My in-laws moved from Hawaii to ten miles away.

My mother spent a very scary 6 weeks in the hospital.

I got my master's degree.

I got run over by a truck, I fucked up my leg, lost my bike, lost my job, had my wisdom teeth pulled... Twice. Hummm what else has affected me? I joined lit (a good thing that happened). besides that, I"ll be glad when the year is gone.

Well, there wasn't much momentous happening in my life, but there were two pretty cool things which happened.

First I got to hear my daughter call me "Daddy". It was entirely unexpected, especially given some of the bullshit her Mom has given me this year (a new man she married, whom she told me the kids call Daddy being the biggest), but it was nice to know that, even at 2, my girl knows her Daddy. :)

Second, I got things rolling to get into school in January. This is pretty much my Big Adventure for the next few years, until I get that music degree and teaching certification.

So...that's all.

Turned 35, thought about my priorities, and changed the ways I do MANY things.

Got married in September, and after my honeymoon, got fired one week after I got back.

Those were my BIG life changes all in a two month period.

Ahhh...turning 35 will do that... I turned 38 in Sept. and it knocked me on my ass. Most of the time it is those 5 yr numbers. 30, 35, 40..but for me it was 38. So I joined Lit two days before my birthday. I am still trying to figure out if that is significant or not:)

Counting by tens is depressing, I look in the mirror and wonder how did I get so old? I don't feel it, I don't look it (so I've been told), but the reality is unescapable.:( :(

Hey!!!!!

I didn't mean to depress you. How old are you??

Cassidy

left home and started college...

i've learned a lot about myself and my relationships because of this. i've fallen in love with my friends all over again. i've realized how much my brother and sister mean to me after all. i've accepted that my relationship with my mother will never be what i want it to and that i just need to let go.
i've also learned a lot about what i want, what i need, and where i'm going in life. overall a very introspective year i'd say :)
