What superhero did you want to be as a kid?

I liked batman, because any smart kid could become Batman, if only he had all of those toys....Same for James Bond & some other spyguys.

Honorable mention goes to actual superheroes Flash for relativity,Aquaman for telepathy, and The Mighty Thor for just plain cool lookin' comics!

Anybody remember Wendy (and Marvin) on the Superfriends? I was so pumped that a superhero in training had my name so she's the one I wanted to be....but I always wanted to be Batman too, I even went as him for Halloween.

Green Lantern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guys power was only limited by his will and imagination!

CH

hmm let me see, i always liked Spider-man and Wolverine. Spidey cause of his powers and he was smart as hell, but with wolverine yea his powers as well(i would love to combine the 2 together, spideys agility, strength, and wall climbing, with wolverines healing and skeleton, but anyway) because i like to be alone alot, and to keep to myself, my business is my business etc

LOL

Altho I admired Wonder Woman (being an Amazon), I wanted to be Supergirl. Her powers were greater. However my biggest hero was Dracula. Does he count? *flashes her fake fangs*

Vampires are sexy...

I always feel like peter parker when I'm trying to avoid my landlord to pay rent...

Wonder Woman. Her bracelets was so cool. Her invisiable plane and that magic lasso.
The Bionic Woman was pretty cool too, she just didnt have the magic powers Woman Woman had....lol

Whats with all this "I wanted to be.." stuff?

Damnit as a kid I WAS a superhero!!

"Captain Hockey" along with his faithful (but still on a leash) sidekick dog made sure all of 5th street and 3rd avenue was the safest place on earth.. Warding off evil with what I'm sure he called his "great hockey stick of justice" (Well ok.. I think back then I stll called it my stick.. but if I had just a little more imagination...)

Hmm, if I could be any superhero? Well, it all depends. To pick up chicks I'd be Gambit cause he just oozes with the lady killer charm. I always had a crush on the Pink Ranger Kimberly *drools overhimself* And, sorry to say ladies, but Jason and Tommy were ugly as hell. Black Ranger all the way! :D

When I was growing up ... Isis ... ( a really old and short lived TV series about her )

Now I am grown up I want to be Psylock or Batgirl

As for the SuperHero male I wanna do ... Nightwing or Batman.

But Nightwing more :D

Oh, I still want to be one. I like Apocalypse, the in-betweener, and Northstar, especially.

i always wanted (still want) to be Superman.. or the Incredible Hulk..

they were just the coolest two i think i've ever seen.. and it was lots of fun pretending to be them

Green Hulk, or Grey Hulk?

I always related to Cyclops and Wolverine from the X-Men. Primarily Cyclops--I some issues with closeness and emotion I think lol--both characters are kind of untouchable (gruff and stern, etc) on the outside but are real softies underneath that have a whole lot of love but are kind of scared to indulge it.

So, I guess I'd have to say I always have "gotten" Cyclops.

Of course to be someone just for the hell of it, you gotta go with someone like Superman or Professor X--total powerhouses lol.

Yes, I read to many comics.

Spiderman or Batman. I wanted to be both.

Spiderman because he had so much to overcome. Always tested to his limits and he always came out on top.

Batman because he understood people and he would use that against them. His greatest weapon is FEAR. The villains thought he was the bogey man. Unlike the f-ing movies where he goes around revealing his identity to all the bad guys. How fucking moronic.

So how do you feel about Bruce being crotchety and clinically depressed now?

For some reason, I was always some variation of Superman in my dreams, as a kid. I could always fly. Thought nothing of it. Seemed to have basically all the strength I needed. But there was one flaw; there was always a force pulling me in one direction. I'd fly as hard as I could away, and just break even. I'd grab a lampost, bend it, and still be making no progress getting away from whatever the unseen place/thing/direction was.

Finally, around probably puberty, I just went in that damn direction. And there was nothing there.

And the next night, the force started up again, and I went right at it that time as well. And there was something unspeakably horrible at the end of it.

But it never bothered me again after that.

And in later years I would abandon the idea of a god and, later, discover a taste for H.P. Lovecraft stories. Weird-

I have to admit that I don't read comics that much anymore even though I have easy access and can read them for free. There are so many good ones out there now that I end up spending all my time reading comics.

If Bruce is crotchety (does this mean he goes around grabbing guy's privates?) and clinically depressed and the writers can make it work, then fine. Can anyone say that the idea of Bruce being clinically depressed is a stretch? I don't think so. I think I'm going to have to start reading a selective few comic lines again, just to catch up.

The problem with comics today is the characters have been around so long the writers can't seem to make up their minds what to do with them. Spiderman's story lines have sucked for a long time because the writers keep covering their asses. Aunt May dies. then comes back but wait! She's a clone! Then dies. Then comes back again and it's really her this time. Woopie!

Batman, Spiderman, X-men, Spawn, Spidergirl, NightHawk. I'm going to read those again. I'll let you know what I think.

Sadly, I am not the comic fanboy I once was. I've fallen from grace. Been fallewn for two years now.
