What song do you listen to..................

I torture myself with listening to whatever "our songs" were because it makes me cry. In the crying, I get it all out, and this helps me to move on. Once I do, that's when the anger and resolve finally set in, and it's at this time that this song does it for me.;) It's pretty much my theme song for all of life, but it's particularly inspiring in matters of the heart.

A snippet from "I will Survive" Gloria Gaynor

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying' hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
And I spent oh so many nights
Just feeling sorry for myself, I used to cry
But now I hold my head up high
And you see me, somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you
And so you felt like droppin' in
And just expect me to be free
Now I'm savin' all my lovin' for someone who's lovin' me

Go on now go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did I crumble?
Did you think I'd lay down and die?

Oh no not I, I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to love I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give, and I'll survive
I will survive. Oh.

Yep.

I listen to Linkin Park, or HIM (it's a Finnish band, they sing in English though)

Mostly something more rocking, unless I want a really good cry :)

I thought this thread would get this many replies! Looks like lots of people listen to music when they're pissed off.

i dont have one really,i am neevr really mad at her, i just usually listen to music that has some meaning for us, like Again by Lenny Kravitz guess it depends on what it happening at that time

Good call, Broken is a definite for me. Plus, the Smashing Pumpkins "Marquis in Spades". It basically says "Fuck you slut". Yeah.

good call fella. but am very prone to "breakdown" as well

Let me hear you now...

Also, Coma works very well.

I think I need a GNR injection... been a while

For me its Gimme One Reason - Tracy Chapman

I just love that song!

Guns and Roses for lots of pissed off-ness things...seems they have one for many moods for me.

Of course, once you've gone beyond anger to utter contempt, you must listen to Jill Sobule's "Good Person Inside":

I know everyone's a good person inside
Everyone wants to be loved inside
So whenever I think how you wasted my time
I try to remember the good things inside

Well, you haven't killed anyone as far as we know
And you seem very nice to your sister
You have very good taste in clothes and guitars
And very young girls

I know everyone's a good person inside
Everyone wants just to be loved inside
So whenever I think what a dick, what a liar,
I try to remember the good things inside

Well, your smile is as wide as Montana
And your eyes as deep as the Caspian Sea
Well, I guess these these don't count as the things from inside
But these are the things that made me blind
These are the things that made me blind

What was I thinking? I wasn't thinking at all
If I knew what I did today, would I make the same mistake?
Probably.

Cuz your hands are as big as Montana
And your lips as sweet as red vines
Well I guess these don't count as the things from inside
But these are the things that made me blind
These are the things that make me blind

You're as sharp as a tack, you're as loyal as a cat
You were great in the sack, even if you have hair on your back
You made me weak at the knees, gave me no disease
What more could I ask, I won't dig deeper than that

Nomeansno

Red on red or who fucked whom. I can't remember exactly and since my music is packed up ready for the move I can't tell you what the title of the song is. I know its by Nomeansno though. Great album though. Punk rawks!!

Yes, yes, I'm adding that one to my list...

Another good one? for when you're really, really hating them? for when you just found out about the other one they've been seeing?

The Cure, from the album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me,the song "Shiver and Shake".

You're just a waste of time
You're just a babbling face
You're just three sick holes that run like sores
You're a fucking waste
You're like a slug on the floor
Oh, you're useless and ugly
And useless and ugly
And I shiver and shake
When I think of how you make me hate

I want to smash you to pieces
I want to smash you up and screaming
I want to smash you helpless
Down on the floor
Smash you until you're not here anymore

And I shiver and shake
Shiver and shake

To turn the thread on it's ear for a moment, what does anybody listen to when they're really happy with their other person?

Mine: every girl gets a different song. No help I know.

okay... if we're gonna turn the thread on it's head, may as well do a complete job about it...

Songs when I'm angry at someone:
Back off Bitch by Guns & Roses
Glass Shatters by Disturbed (Steve Austin's WWE theme)
Break Me Shake Me by Savage Garden

Songs when I'm just depressed (I suffer from severe depression):
Send Me An Angel by Scorpions
We All Die Young by Adema (The Steel Dragon version is worthy of a download too)
You're No Different by Ozzy Osbourne

Songs when I just have a lot of aggression in me:
Crush 'Em by Megadeth
Antichrist Superstar by Marilyn Manson
My Way by Limp Bizkit (yeah... the band have kinda lost their appeal now, but this and Rollin' are still classics :D)

Songs When I'm happy:
Donkey Kong Country 3 My Red Hot Pursuit OC Remix by Wintermute
Kissy Kissy by Smile.dk
Bumble Bee by Smile.dk
Over The Hills And Far Away by Nightwish
Shawn Michaels WWE Theme (I think it's called Sexy Boy)

There we go, that's more like it :D.

I Will Survive

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinkin' I could never live without you by my side
Then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along

And so you're back from outer space
I just walked in to find you here, with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second you'd be back to bother me

Go on now, go walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Coz you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye?
Did you think I'd crumble?
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no not I, I will survive
For as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my love to give
I'll survive
I will survive
Hey hey

(I, I will survive)
Hey hey
(I, I will survive)
Every day
(I, I will survive)
Oh yeah

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Just trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry, but now I hold my head up high
And you see me, somebody new

Hey
(I, I will survive)
Every day

Oh

I will survive
(I, I will survive)

(I, I will survive)
I've got all my love to give
(I, I will survive)
I've got all my life to live
(I, I will survive)
My loving is not in vain, oh no

(I, I will survive)
I will survive
(I, I will survive)
I will survive
(I, I will survive)
Hey

Goodness, I love their version of the song.
She has such an incredible voice.

I don't really have any songs in particular for those happy moments.
Just whatever happens to grab my attention at the time I guess.

Def Leppard did it for me the other day. I jacked up the volume on it in the car and off I went. A long drive, music pumping by the time I got to my destination I was doing better.

Anastacia does it for me too. She's got a nice funky beat to her songs.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Change of Heart.

You were the moon and sun, you're just a loaded gun now, it gets me down

Their version of the song truly is wonderful, good to see another Nightwish fan (I only started listening to their stuff a month ago... but Daymn if they don't totally own, if you haven't heard of Within Temptation, d/l some of their stuff, the two bands are quite similar with some songs.).

Quite a few of the songs that I use when I'm extremely happy are ones that I just enjoy singing along to, or just have a great beat that cheers me up.

The best has to be when I'm in my mate's car, cruisin' down the road with Rollin' by Limp Bizkit playing, now that truly is great on the feel good factor, even if you're not a rock fan, if you can get this song, play it in the car loud, and just headbang, and of course do the whole hand actions during the chorus, I'm positive it'll cheer you up no end and get the adrenaline rushing :).

Of course, I have to say that ANY song by Smile.dk is good on the feel good factor, sure it's Jap dance music, but hey, it OWNS. For those that are wondering, they do quite a few songs in the Dance Dance Revolution game, so if you like the music off that game, you probably like most of Smile.dk :).

I always thought Petty's best song was "Learning to Fly." Still do as a matter of fact.
